Feature 220--Blueoriontiger

Mrs. Hudson's Discovery

That kid is holding onto the character so tightly...I hope the both of them can find what happened to him! This is in some kind of cellar, so that explains how dark things are. Those ladies better not let go of that kiddo anytime soon.
I wonder what time this story takes place in? The dresses that Blueoriontiger drew and painted look quite nice! Seems like Mrs. Hudson is the one who is going to find out what happened in this mystery...may it happen soon for the sake of that kid.

Vigilance-Room Clearing

And here is a scene where the young one has apparently seen a monster. The Sentry and the one further into the room is checking out what they can see to help calm this child. For that little one's sake, I hope there isn't something hidden!
This scene makes me think of something set in space, somehow. Perhaps it's the buttons to the doors, or maybe it's the alien like creatures to have as help? And goodness knows what the monster may have looked like; if it were real! Really fun piece in my opinion.

A World Hopping Adventure

An adventure where the drawing and painting tools are as needed as the air and water in that realm? That's what came into my mind as soon as I saw this piece...the artist himself is on the right and the person who came up with all this with him on the right!
Full respect for how Blueoriontiger got that dress to work out, look at how many small pieces there are to protect the character's legs. Granted that it's just a dress but it's amazing. And just take a look how that water and mountain in back has come out. Good work!

These pieces were quite fun to see, in my opinion! Blueoriontiger's gallery is here if you'd like to see more, yourself.

Feature 200: A Walk Back

For Feature 200, I thought it'd be fun to go back through some past features! I'll share the artwork, linking to both the original feature as the number and to the Artist's image through the piece itself as I have been lately.

1: It's only right that place number 1 is from the very first feature, where I shared AnthonyH318's work!

Gelid Graveyard

Can you imagine being the person (or people) who went out in their turn to mark the places of these dead? Anthony has a nice story about the image on it's page so I hope you'll enjoy looking at it again, like I did. And I'm still in full love with the building in the background, barely peeking through the driving snow even if we know that the area is surrounded. Can you just imagine how chilly?

2: Now this second piece is from Feature 30, sharing CaptainEdwardTeague's artwork.

Italian Coast from a Boat

Mm, this piece still just takes my breath away. The waters right next to the city, building upward into those mountains and hills in the back...there's so much I could say but how, since it makes me so speechless? Thank you, Captain, for letting me travel here on just the computer chair!

3:  Ooo, this one is from Feature 151, sharing toonicorn's artwork

Spur Your Imagination

In my first feature of this piece, my eyes were drawn to the dragon on the upper left--for good reason, look at the cloud it's causing! But what do you think of everything else surrounding the winged horse? Isn't it just lovely how toonicorn was able to put together everything that a child would remember on their imaginations, how much fun it all was? I hope none of us have forgotten the majesty of such imagination, despite our age.

4:  This piece is Azurelly's! It's so great to get to speak about it again!

Can't You Hear it's Cry?

Such a quiet room, with the statues of those who may have lived there before. And even quieter because, of course, these room often are gigantic. I almost feel the chill that would be left behind...
Don't forget to revisit the piece in Azurelly's gallery. There's a bit of music that is just perfect for such a place as this.

5: For the final past feature, we're seeing AltairSky's artwork again.

Metamorphosis

This piece still sparks my interest, it makes me wonder what kind of peaceful forest this is, even in the story that AltairSky wrote for the comment linked in the image's page. Then again...what is a story if it's only peaceful? Maybe this is just a small point of rest?

I never imagined that this feature thing would ever get to 200. Thank you to all the artists who show their art and let me share your work! This whole features thing could never have gotten anywhere without all of you.
And thank you to everyone who keeps coming back, too, so glad that you're enjoying the features. To the future for this site and us all!

Feature 196--Kael-S

Ganyu

I always see a bow from this game drawn and my gaze is locked and studying how it was created. XD Might be why I do so badly with the game too, right?
To the figure, isn't it so nice! The back looks pretty natural and I happen to like how her backside is covered from this end. Gives us more color to notice! I also think that Kael-S does an amazing job with the painting, not leaving any accidental brush strokes off the figure. Lovely work!

Mona

Doesn't Mona's magic book look so neat done in this style? Very nice work there!
But take a look at how well the character's clothes have been done. Looks just like the game, in my opinion so that makes the artwork itself just that more amazing in my eye. And just look at her playing with her Hydro spell--I personally think it looks like she's lifting herself a bit with the water at her feet.
Really do enjoy this one!

Xiao

First off, that spell he's casting around himself is super well done, the character isn't blocking any piece of it! I haven't met this character in game yet (as I recall) but everything that he's decorated with in this image definitely makes me a bit more excited to get to that point!
Can't help but love the weapon Kael-S put into his hand, appears to be some magical kind of spear and those always end up being quite dangerous to deal with.

Kael did an amazing job with these characters! Their gallery is here if you'd like to see more of their work!

Feature 191--Noorpol

This is something that he drew for a friend, didn't he design the foxes super well? Four different poses for how the earth is in rotation of the sun! Brightest during summer and the darkest in what I see as the winder months.
Have to say too that the design of the sun was done super well. It reminds me of something drawn when looking back to previous ages. Love it all, amazing work!

Interesting! To me, it seems like she is putting the fox's face on as if it's a mask. Fits super well with the "Masquerade" title, I think. And isn't the location she's lying in just so amazing in Noorpol's style? I can't tell if I enjoy the skulls or the leaves most.
Is she lying in a bush, or just in a pile of the leaves? And can you see the tiny bird skulls too? How much can stare at her? And they also seem to be pointing, to me. Amazing work!

I personally enjoy this piece but if you are a bit uneasy for a realistically designed baboon's skull and the mentioned torn skin, perhaps you shouldn't click through? It's listed as a horror image on Noorpol's dA, hence the content warning here.

Noorpol has some very intriguing work, I personally loved going through it to set up the feature! To see more yourself, his gallery is here.

Feature 190--kitpaint

Pumpkin-Fellow

Ink. This is made in ink for Inktober and oh doesn't it look so pretty! To me, it looks like he's taking a look outside to breathe in the dark and enjoy that moonlight.
But just look at how well kitpaint made those lines! It looks properly night time to me, and I'm really enjoying how the shadow is over the bushes and trees behind the character. Excellent piece!

Lottie

This is apparently a little black kitty that kitpaint drew. I wonder how hard it was to get the kitten's attention before a photo was taken? Granted that's assuming kitpaint needed a photo!
Either way, the angle this was drawn in seems quite nice to me. How hard was it to control the micron pens to make pieces as lovely as this? And can't you just see how furry the kitten in question is?
Love it!

Lion cub in pen

Here is some more of that shading that I'm so in love with. Doesn't kitpaint do a lovely job in making not only such a lovely shadow, but the whole animal come out in 3D? I could just see this little one on his or her way to bother a sibling or one of the parents. Because that is a definite rule with any kind of cat.
I mentioned it once in the Lottie piece too, but isn't it just something with how kitpaint can make such texture with the cub's fur the way they did? Gorgeous!

These were some amazing pieces! To see more, here is the link to kitpaint's deviantart gallery.

Feature 189--Salad1V

Safenea Porphyrogenita

This is a ruler who was born in the proper Royal purple. The text is Byzantine and Arabic cursive, as I understand from the artist comments. I really enjoy how the dress and the crown look; the jewelry on them were quite well done.
And the most interesting part of it all? She's a redraw of a character that Salad1V had designed previously. All respect for learning more on the arts! Love both versions, myself, so it was fun to share this.

Hypergorm head closeup

Another very very well designed bird/dinosaur! It's always fun to get to see these kinds of work, and this one has an excellent story about how the creature lives and how they'll lay their eggs before time to go back to their own lives. Definitely check it yourself, it won't be time wasted.
Amazing work here!

Pachonchi

I love how well Salad1V put together this scene! These two birds/dinosaurs look excellent and they are so clear against the icy sea they're in front of. And I would be wrong to not mention how well that sky was painted for the time of day it is.
Also, the bird standing in front seems to be in a perfect hunting pose. Can't you just imagine how this one would just bolt off at full speed for whatever creature it's eyeing so hard? Excellent work!

These three images were so fun to share! If you'd enjoy seeing more of this kind of art, Salad1V's gallery is right here. Enjoy yourself there!

Feature 188--AltairSky

The Journey

First, I have got to squeal about how lovely the water looks here; especially with that little splash going over the whale's back. And then to squeal all about how well AltairSky designed the whale!
This makes me wonder how large these bots are...would have to read the comic to find that out, I imagine. Certainly worth the time! Especially if they live in such a pretty world as this background shows.

Metamorphosis

The background is as gorgeous as before, it's great! And the plant she's holding up isn't a holly; but the feeder plant of the hawkmoth caterpillars. (The type is written in the artist comments.)
This location is such a pretty one. The fog fits perfectly, I think; and it appears to be some kind of forest? Whatever it is, that grass looks perfect. Pretty tall too, so it's gotta be somewhere without a lot of grounds keeping--that just works best in my mind. Beautiful piece!

Huggles

The best kind of cuddles for a chilly day! Love how the ice is coming down from the tree branch and those stones in the background. This scene also helps give an idea of the medabots' height, like I was wondering from before.
AltairSky has done it again with the gorgeous backgrounds. She's so very good with her work!

It was so fun to see AltairSky's hawkmoth medabots! If you'd like to see more about them, her gallery is right here. Enjoy yourself!

Feature 173--azureheim

Half Orc Rogue

This character appears to be so fun to play! Azureheim created her when he was playing a dungeons and dragons game with his friends and I so wish that there was a copy of the story to get to read.
The leather he painted as her armor looks very stiff, like one would hope a leather armor to be when facing swords and even knives like she's holding. Aren't those also drawn and painted super well? Excellent work; love her!

Dwarven Warrior

How do you think Azureheim managed the armor that this dwarf is wearing? I personally really enjoy the chainmail that's under the arm and legplates. It looks perfect in my opinion!
And what do you think about how that scar was handled? What other scars is hidden by all this metal? Also have to just squeal; just look at that beard! It looks so thick!
Super enjoy this guy!

Female Paladin Cell-shaded

Speaking of armor, he gets us again with this lovely paladin. I wonder what gods or, dare we guess the possibility, what devil is powering her ability to fight?
We get to see a touch of chainmail that was put on this character. Is it a specific brush that Azureheim found or created? I can't help but love that bit of texture it lends to the whole image! And just look (and drool) at the fabric coming down from her belt. Looks like it'd be perfect to make it harder to keep up with where she is--is she being watched or is how the fabric dances keeping the foe's attention?

Love the way that azureheim set up these characters, they're so fun to imagine stories and what they meet for! To see more of his awesome work, check out his gallery here!

Feature 172--stelladrawsart

Pink Lemonade

Can I just say how cute these eyes were painted? I love the reflection and the color fits so amazing with what the character is wearing. Especially with the pink hair above and in the back!
The little moon earring fits perfectly too. It almost looks like her eyes could be painted as if giving a respect to space itself? If that was an idea, it was super well done! And could I just mention how I love the linework that was done with this. Wonder how long it took, because it's great!

Fluffy Twintails!

Has anyone else fallen in love with how stelladrawsart creates her hairstyles? You can just tell how thick this hair is just by the drawing and painting style for this. And can I just mention how awesome she is at using those thin lines? She's always able to force those lines to do everything that she wants of them. Respect them.
But we have got to get to the painting too. This character's skintone sets off everything else she painted and helps the hair and those gorgeous eyes just come forward! Excellent work!

Shenhe

I admit to know nothing about genshin-impact, but stelladrawsart makes me want to know so much more. Just look how she drew this character, making her look so powerful just by winds and magic. And doesn't the scene look to be something hinting toward winter?
I must squeal about how well stelladrawsart handled the eyes again, and I think it goes without saying that she does such a beautiful job on the hair. Love and love this piece entirely!

You've seen these three pieces so that excites you to see the rest of stelladrawsart's gallery right? Here's the link, drop by and be prepared to admire some excellent work!

Feature 170--JuliaMersmann

Lamia

This background is so perfect for some of the images of vampires that I've seen. I wonder how long it took her to make this come out so well? And just take a look at how the lightning from the storm has lit up the floor tiles!
Speaking of light, don't those candles look perfect? Especially how the light from them touches so perfectly on the vampire's dress and the baby's wrap. This whole piece is just gorgeous, definitely one of my favorites!

Flora of the Moon

Interesting piece! It's a Draw Everything June and Julia drew the Moonpresence from Bloodborne. Isn't this just the most interesting pose that this creature could have been drawn in? It looks just as distorted as the game makes it look but I just adore how the moon appears to be something of an egg for the creature; just waiting to hatch.
The tentacles look amazing and it would just be wrong to not mention how well the ribs and spine came out. My eyes keep going toward the creature's feet and claws on the toes. The whole piece is super well done!

Drow me Like a French Girl

It's so fun to see people draw their D&D characters. This one is a Drow who is more than happy to lay out on a comfortable surface and appear so lovely. Why not, right? All of the focus he gets on his bare body while he just gets to lay there in the proper poses!
The darkness of the image does perfectly to help censor certain places and it almost looks natural for how the shadows fit. And then the characters blue eyes just seem to glow with all the candles shining into them...he probably has eyes that glow anyway, to be fair, he's a Drow!

What a fun image to get to end on, right? These pieces are amazing and I truly love her painting style with all of these. If you'd like to see more of JuliaMersmann's artwork, her deviantart gallery is right here. Go check it out!

Feature 169--Musbasement

Gladiator

Musbasement puts a very interesting sentence in the Gladiator's artist comments: "The freedom of the gladiator is covered with mountains of corpses." Doesn't one just have to climb the highest upon all the death he left behind?
But let's now focus on the artwork because I love the way he painted the anatomy here. And the character is so pale too...maybe his amount of killing has almost erased his humanity? It almost seems so with how his face has been so distorted. His honor came at such a price. Was it so worth it, now?

Donna of the Deep

I agree with a comment on this one--it definitely seems like a masterpiece!
This character, whether alive in some undead form or not, fits the scene beautifully. And I really like how it's sitting on what appears to be a long sunken anchor. Look around, too; do you see the eyes that I imagine belong to the rest of the ship's crew when it crashed down to the bottom of the sea.
Can also see it as this one is what fights the ship down into the depths. It would explain why he's sitting in such a commanding pose over everything that's been eaten by the sea plants!

Hakamori

I keep wondering what kinda character this is. Looks like he could be some kind of rogue, to me. One that keeps himself hidden by song and dance. Wouldn't he be something if he were instead a magic user of some degree, too! I could see that stick being used that way, like some kind of staff. Why wouldn't he know how to make it dance with him...maybe that's part of why he's in shadow, too. A more sneaky way to fight or just trap someone if they came to watch his shows?

These pieces are all amazing! To see more of this Musbasement's work, his gallery is right here. Be sure to check the rest out!

Feature 168--lifethroughjournals

Art Journal Page, May 2021

Praying to a god that she isn't even sure is there. Don't we all have that feeling at times?
I love that background, it's so gorgeous. The woman is just reaching up to an empty sky that's going darker and darker...her heart must be so broken right now. Having such difficulty going through life at the moment.
LifeThroughJournals did such a lovely job with that dress! The color against that deep red, going up into blackness, really does help show the life struggling to continue. And can we just take a moment and squeal about how well she did the hair? Excellent work!

Art Journal Page, May 2017

A witch under the full moon with two of her very well done familiars. We can see the moon's power gathering around her hand as she prepares some quiet spell. I hope it's quiet anyway. She certainly looks powerful enough to cause an issue if the need came!
Love how this piece makes me keep thinking. First, I saw a lake behind her with lighting from homes on the other shore. But no...is it perhaps her magic creating both of those familiars' bodies? It makes great sense why we'd see the moon so clearly inside since she's possibly using that power. This one is so fun to get to view! So many stories can be made from it.

PUPA Challenge 3, March 2021

What I can learn about 'PUPA Challenge' on a gallery is that they take a photo and try to paint from it, creating their own piece. Like an insect going into a pupa between the immature and mature stages--pointing toward how someone can grow into a full artist while in this stage.
Personally, I love how lifethroughjournals has created this from the photo she used as a reference. This is gorgeous--like the heart is becoming life (look at the plus signs at the lower left!) and is perhaps becoming like a tree, where the life continues to grow?
Gorgeous work, it's so inspiring!

If you enjoyed the work in this feature; lifethroughjournals' gallery is right here. Drop by so you can see even more great artwork!

Feature 166 -- AliKatt0

All Boro Island--Cutie Pies

I really enjoy how sweet these two look! One of them is meant to be her persona (I assume the one with the purple hair) and the character with green hair is apparently a boyfriend to the character.
The setup is so cute, too! She's working on her tablet and he, all in fun, pokes her for distraction and play. And can we just chat about how comfortable that chair looks? I also just now noticed how green her eye is. Looks so great against the purple of her hair!

Sparks

This girl promises to be interesting. I wonder how many stories AliKatt0 has written or drawn about her? Because Sparks definitely seems like she's trounced more than one fight!
It's hard to decide which version I like most between the one in center where she's holding an umbrella behind her back or the one with the magic up and around her in the lower left. On that, I wonder if the umbrella is just that or if it's maybe one of her weapons? Could be wrong, but the design at the top of the umbrella definitely makes it seem like something to cast through!

Town Unknown--The Farmer and his Dog

And to end the feature is what has to be the cutest little design I've seen lately. This was made with Minecraft in mind and I was immediately able to tell with how the torches surrounding this location look. So not only that but there is an absolutely gorgeous sunset going on! Love how well that was painted and how many shades of color AliKatt0 got into the sky.
The farmer and his basket looks great, too. Love his straw hat! And let's just stop at the dog and his so cute pouch he's wearing. Really enjoy how fuzzy the dog is!
In all, a gorgeous piece.

To get to see more of AliKatt0's artwork, here is her gallery on dA. Drop by and spend some time to enjoy everything, there's plenty to see!

Feature 164--Estheryu

Day of the Deviant

My jaw just dropped when I saw this piece. It's gorgeous!
There was a contest going when Estheryu created this; I so hope that she won something from it! Just look at that halo of stars around her head, along with those beautiful clouds behaving like sheets and blankets just over her form. Or perhaps it's to show that it is more hidden in the heights of her mind? Look how she's reaching up toward those planets, too.
Love it!

Doodle: Sunflower Skull

These skulls look very interesting set against the sunflower here. Maybe a comparison of life and death? Or perhaps it's just what just happened to come together as she worked on this?
It's also very interesting how the gal has those blue gems...maybe she's Life and is bringing the sunflower out to show that even death may not be the full end?
This is an amazing piece and it was so fun to see!

Fight Fish

This piece is amazing! How many fish can you count in it? And doesn't all of the lines here seem to act like fish themselves; floating free in the air?
Estheryu definitely seems to know how to paint the fish perfectly in this watercolor. I wonder how long it took her to add the color to this? She mentioned that the linework was a sketch that was done in 2016, too.
Was excellent to get to see this!

It was a real treat to get to see these pieces! To see more of Estheryu's amazing work, here is her deviantart! Drop by and spend some time here; it'll be well worth it!

Feature 163--WLHcomics

Keisha Portrait Art

The way that WLHcomics painted this character reminds me of how one of the latest cartoons look. (Wish I could remember which show it is...) But I am in love with the texture she put behind her! It seems to help Keisha stand out perfectly.
Love the way that the clothing was layered on each piece and the pins fit great. Makes me think that she's going into a high school or somewhere like that?
This piece is quite fun, would like to meet this character!

All That Jazz

Two of WLHcomics' characters (David Wesguini and Amy Thorn) dressed up as old timey thugs!
Really enjoy the style that Amy took and David looks exactly like those old movie gang members. His hat looks perfect and I wonder if Amy's hair is just dyed like that or if she's wearing a wig? Both of that would fit for the years, I think...
Super interesting is that WLHcomics posted a link to where she speedpainted these two characters. Definitely check that out if you have the time!

Creepy Mushroom Man

Interesting! This is a character created by WLHcomics and he apparently hangs out in Camp Hollow, a location she created. Gosh it has to be fun to be able to keep a location set up so well!
I wonder what this dude does? She hints that he isn't that nice of a character so one definitely doesn't just want to run into him. I hope that he's not an eternal character that can't be easily defeated, when the time comes!
Excellent work done on him and it was so fun to learn all this!

Fully enjoyed getting to see these three pieces; what about you? Here is WLHcomics' gallery, you'll get to see how great her art and stories are! Drop by and check all of it out!

Feature 162--Cuestionador

Between Two Worlds

Isn't this image just so interesting to look at! As Cuestionador says on the page, this is a collage and I personally LOVE it. To me, it seems to have a fiery cave on the left with the creature staring right into it. What I see on the right is that the static in the brain, hidden by the form of the person.
Did the person on the right maybe have to face that creature on the left? Are they maybe just keeping it secret that they themselves ARE the creature? If it ever became known, that's no doubt when the bomb would go off in some form or another...
Excellent work!

When Night Falls

This one is just waiting for the gates to open, as if she hadn't had plenty of men and women serving her. And of course all of them believe she was serving them. Behind the gate seems to remind me of a graveyard. Fits that red shape the succubus is leaning on perfectly. Maybe she's ready for those people who like to walk around one of those places?
Really enjoy this piece, great work!

Sketch 007: The Ghost

This ghost reminds me of one of those who track the people they're after. Maybe chasing them through the woods or a large mansion?
Loving how Cuestionador drew this creature. I wonder if this one sings their target to sleep or if it gets more out of them if it just scares the hell out of them? And how did this one die? It appears that she's long lost her chin and cheek were ripped off...
Love it, this is amazing work!

Was such a treat to get to see more of Cuestionador's work! If you'd like to see more work like what was shared, go to Cuestionador's gallery. It's more than worth your time!
