Feature 227--Karren-san

Considering this is a cat, I wonder how much trouble it can get into in an hour? Goodness knows that our housecats can invent issues when they're bored! So what kind of issues can this guy come up with? And in the perfect scene, there is absolutely no one that could accuse this one even if said issue helps cause some kind of actual trouble.
It would be absolutely great!

An OC that belongs to a friend of Karren-san. In my opinion, I really think the character was treated so very well. Loving the paint and the clothing this fellow is wearing...considering some of his tags, I wonder what kind of show he would live in?
Those wings are so fun too. Their size makes me imagine that he could change the size to a degree to help him fly when necessary--at least it's fun to think so!

This is such a pretty coloration! Opal is certainly what I see here and it's absolutely gorgeous; I wonder how hard it was to paint? And just look at how well the pillbug was designed! Looks exactly like the ones I've picked up and held. Since this one is opal like in color, does that mean it's a main character in some story or other? I could just imagine it...
Aside from my silly question, this is a very nice piece!

Had a lot of fun with this feature since Karren-san has done such a lovely job with these pieces! The gallery is here if you would like to see their other works!

Feature 221--kuromizzz

The yellow on yellow here really does help bringing the kitty into focus! An elder kitty with no teeth but has to still be worth the adoption...cats are amazing in being worth caring for. Apparently this one has FIV so I hope that he's still being entirely lovely for kuromizzz!
I personally enjoy the face of both kitty and the character right here, very well designed. Excellent work!

I'll be honest, I personally enjoy the color purple. And it was used quite well on this piece! We can easily see what is closest to the camera and what isn't, like that bag and the boot.
The hair seems to have come out perfectly for this style of work, at least in my opinion. I wonder what kind of clothing design this is, if it has a name? The character seems quite comfortable, either way, and it's designed quite well. Lovely work.

And last some very lovely linework. This character seems to be perfectly in balance and I've been mildly distracted by that cute head tilt in this piece. kuromizzz doesn't label it themselves so I don't know for certain, but this looks like a very well controlled digital inking from some program.
I really do enjoy this one! It looks like it was fun no matter what else. Very cute work, great job!

Weren't these pieces just so cute? To see more of kuromizzz's work, their deviantart gallery is here! They also have a Patreon, if you're interested in seeing that too.

Feature 219--Citrus-Chikadee

Chilling Together

This is a fun piece. Really enjoying the textures on the vending machine and on the dog's ear.
I like how well the grass detail has been done, too. But I have a question--is that in front of the room like a porch or is it just some sidewalk section?
Working with the pen this way is very well done; great job!

Potion Time

Aah, that cat! It's perfect for this scene! ...so is the cat the witch, boiling that potion, or is it the witch's helper in a much harder to capture form? And just because the cat is black, it doesn't mean either the witch or cat is necessarily evil, even in Halloween times. Don't interrupt them! Maybe they're preparing to capture one of the villains in that realm?
So fun to make stories up on this piece. Excellent work, Citrus-Chikadee!

Will-o-Wisp

When I was playing pokemon, I SO enjoyed Duskull! And getting to see two of them just playing near one another? ...knowing the one's history, it makes me wonder if they're attempting to catch a person or two because just look at that one's dark magic going as they dance their circle!
Entirely fun piece!

These three pieces were great to get to chat about! To see more of Citrus-Chikadee's artwork, her gallery is here. Have fun!

Feature 211--kitpaint

Rocky Lounging

If this isn't a cat, I don't know what is and I entirely loved it. I wonder how long fuzz decided to lay like this for kitpaint?
But isn't this ink work just amazing? That cat looks so fuzzy and I enjoy how the detail on the cat was designed. Aah, I just want to rub that fur so much! Doesn't it seem like there'd be such a perfect feeling under the fingers?

Lottie

Oooh, a pretty little black cat, at least as Kitpaint wrote on her page. This one  looks so very furry, doesn't it? And how did the fuzzball allow for the sketch without demanding the payment in all pets? (I mean, it's very fast to take a photo, but it's quite fun to imagine the kitty sitting there like has to happen for painters.) I really enjoy this piece, excellent work!

Lion Cub in Pen

So I love the shadow under this lion cub. Temporarily, it made me think of grass under it but...wouldn't that just be right anyway? And, like the first cat drawing in this feature, there certainly seems to be a lovely amount of texture on this piece. I wonder how long it took to learn that skill?
Amazing work all around, I love it!

I wish I could control a fineliner like this! Check out kitpaint's gallery to see more of their artwork, well worth it!

Feature 206--Rikka-Miyagi

Jingle Bell gift No1

This was a super well done gift to one of Rikka-Miyagi's friends and oh my gosh how adorable! I wonder how much the character is enjoying the candy cane? (Looks like very much since we seem to see the tongue!)
And the wreath sets off the character in center very well. Gives it a lovely background and keeps the red from burning our eyes at the same time! This piece is adorable, I'm so grateful that she showed me this!

Trick or Treat TOH

It's so fun how everyone is holding onto the one dressed as a zombie. Was the person or people they were asking for candy from so terrifying? ...that might actually be possible, since I've never seen the show...Wouldn't it just add that bit extra for this picture's scene?
In my opinion, Rikka set the scene perfectly. It's so fun to imagine what the three have come across since it's *trick* or treat. Really enjoy this piece!

Tiger Blep

A wild animal that has given the camera such a blep. The Tiger in question must have well known the person taking the photo!
Can you see how nice Rikka designed the fur all over this big cat? ...I wish it would be safe to just run my fingers through this one's fur. (But we do have to respect the wild creature in question so no doing it. XD) Cats of any size always have a place in my heart, especially as well as Rikka did on this piece!

I really enjoy the way that Rikka-Miyagi used and handled all of the colors on these pieces and on her gallery! Link is here for your own enjoyment.

Feature 198--Interstellar643

Batman

The colors put in this image really has done a good job to bring Batman closer to the camera, in my opinion. I never thought about using a pinkish shade for such as this!
Can you see those wrinkles in the fabrics too? I love how they work and were built for this image. It's just been so fun to let my eyes go over the picture to notice little pieces that I hadn't seen before. So great!

Cat Sketch

I really do enjoy the linework used here! Isn't this the classic 'what?' look that a cat will give you? Just shortly before those eyes go black as night while the kitty thinks about a way to tackle your hand or a toe!
Wonder if this is a portrait of a cat Interstellar643 happened to own at one time? It's so very cute!

Working Girl

Here is another piece of linework that Interstellar drew. Isn't it so fun to see how they were able to share how the figure has some form; that the lady here actually takes up some space!
I enjoy the little tale Interstellar has in the artist comments--they had seen or imagined a lady who is on break and thoroughly enjoying that tea or coffee in her cup. Really enjoy this piece, very good work!

Weren't these three pieces great? To see more of Interstellar643's work, here is their gallery!

Feature 190--kitpaint

Pumpkin-Fellow

Ink. This is made in ink for Inktober and oh doesn't it look so pretty! To me, it looks like he's taking a look outside to breathe in the dark and enjoy that moonlight.
But just look at how well kitpaint made those lines! It looks properly night time to me, and I'm really enjoying how the shadow is over the bushes and trees behind the character. Excellent piece!

Lottie

This is apparently a little black kitty that kitpaint drew. I wonder how hard it was to get the kitten's attention before a photo was taken? Granted that's assuming kitpaint needed a photo!
Either way, the angle this was drawn in seems quite nice to me. How hard was it to control the micron pens to make pieces as lovely as this? And can't you just see how furry the kitten in question is?
Love it!

Lion cub in pen

Here is some more of that shading that I'm so in love with. Doesn't kitpaint do a lovely job in making not only such a lovely shadow, but the whole animal come out in 3D? I could just see this little one on his or her way to bother a sibling or one of the parents. Because that is a definite rule with any kind of cat.
I mentioned it once in the Lottie piece too, but isn't it just something with how kitpaint can make such texture with the cub's fur the way they did? Gorgeous!

These were some amazing pieces! To see more, here is the link to kitpaint's deviantart gallery.

Feature 182--Pookie-2-Steph

Dreams & Visions

Pookie-2-Steph mentions that the reason this leopard has a fire ability is the Holy Spirit. A very interesting thing to learn and it fits the design on the leopard's chest here! I do wonder what kind of world she (leopard) is living in...
And if these are dreams and visions in this story, can you imagine being the one having to go through all of them, just to see all of this fire? May she have all the help she needs!

The Voice of Thunder

I've been stuck on this one image for a time. Can you just imagine having the power to roar like a leopard and draw fire out of the ground or to whatever target?
Also, just take a look at how well Pookie-2-Steph brought the flame around the leopard's chest! She certainly knows how a cat's chest and neck look in 3D space. Super respect!

Love & Hate

Another book cover that shows the storms in actual love and hate. What in this Leopard's past is being dragged back into focus?
Isn't the lightning flashing behind the words just amazing? I could see it quickly flicking bright and then immediately dark, just long enough to be able to see these words! This whole piece is lovely!

These pieces were so fun to get to share. To see more of Pookie-2-Steph's work and read the stories she's written, you'll find her gallery right here!

FireAlpaca test: Finished Ael

Fire Phoenix Birdcat, Ael

This was so fun to throw together and grabbing the brush to put the detail on his fur was super easy. So from here out, I can definitely see me painting more with FireAlpaca along with as the Clip Studio version that I bought awhile back!

Have been intending to play with FireAlpaca and try to learn some things with it...Have to say I enjoy how loose the pen is and it's easy to shift from pen to eraser. (I haven't learned yet about switching back, but that'll come soon!) Can't wait to learn to use this with Clip Studio.

Feature 175--ScottMackayArt

The Mandalorian and the Child

Have to squeal about how "Baby Yoda" (actually named Grogu) looks. Of course he'd be flying along in a small baby basket, fully proper in the Star Wars fantasy. I should really try to see some of this show, Cannot help but wonder how badly Grogu drives this Mandalorian insane.
Love how ScottMackayArt painted this desert-like background, it looks exactly like how I'd imagine a location in the Star Wars universe. Can you believe that this was painted in watercolor? That perfect sky is watercolor. The armor and fabric on Mando too. How hard was it to control the paints to make them stay where they were meant? And how in the world did he manage to make everything so solid looking?
Amazing work!

The Wizard's Library

There is Gandolf's hat! And then the map, isn't it painted great? On top of all that, I am amazed by how perfect that book in the middle of the desk looks. Does the magic all around and in the scrolls happen to play or get used by the playing cards, I wonder? This area really does look like a perfect section to get to sit down and get to work in private...betcha that with the spellbooks and scrolls all around, it'd be so easy to hide the place in plain sight if needed. I wish that I could go through the books on that bookshelf. Wasn't it designed perfectly with all the items that fit in each of the cubbies?
If you click the image and check out his artist comments, there's a whole 'spot them all' game that he actually put in this piece. All of the items are there, too!

Jenners

A full pen and ink piece! And you have got to respect the perspective knowledge and measurements that had to go into this drawing. It's amazing to me. According to Scott, it took a few weeks...I can see why it would take that long. And I really enjoy getting to see the lines on the left and on top that he used to help measure parts out.
He definitely has a a form of control of the ink he used on this. Full and total respect for this piece entirely!

You have to see more of ScottMackayArt's work, right? His gallery is here; go and get lost in all of the work he's put all his time in!

Feature 144--IzARTela

Cancer

Always do enjoy someone's interpretation of how the signs of the Zodiac looks. This is great! Cancer definitely works as a ballerina and don't you just love the dress that IzARTela put on her? It's so pretty in those shades of pink.
She was inspired by Art Nouveau style when she designed this. Doesn't it just work for this one? And the change from arms to claws, from the hair to the part of shell on her head, just accents this whole piece. Excellent work!

Le chat avec des fleurs

Eee, this is a ragdoll cat that IzARTela owns. Hasn't she done a beautiful job in painting him? It really does look like you could just run your fingers through this one's fur. And those whiskers are 100% in the position of 'cat who is trying to figure out what their weird twoleg pet is doing'. I love it!
And when you can tear your view away from the cat's adorable blue eyes, aren't the flowers in front designed so perfectly? So very great!

Decay

I was immediately drawn to this piece because of how well it shows its subject. The mask is broken and always worn above the troubles and issues that one may have...is it any wonder that the mask itself might be a bit broken from what all it takes? And I'm fully in love with how IzARTela designed the torso and arms of this character. It just makes me wonder what is being hidden and how long the character has had to pretend to not be what they truly are. Love it!

These three works are amazing! If you'd like to see more, drop by IzARTela's dA gallery! She's done so much work to think about and enjoy. ^^

Feature 132--Onililyn

Sea Wolf (DTIYS)

I had to look up what DTIYS means; it's "Draw This In Your Style". There doesn't seem to be an example what she used as a reference, but I love how Onililyn painted that wolf in the waves, lit up by the moonlight!
That eye makes me think of the full moon's glow on all of the water. And it's beautiful how this wolf is howling as the wave comes down. The water is probably built up and pushed over by the power of the wolf's voice. (Voices? I would bet there's a whole pack in the sea here!)

Iris

Loved this piece when Onililyn showed me. Isn't this exactly the pose of a cat who has an expectation of it's person? And goodness knows that said person should already have learned several times over what is wanted.
Isn't this the most adorable kitty, though? I adore its fur pattern and do you see those gorgeous eyes! Now the big question. Is the cat's name Iris or is it just sitting in the middle of a flower patch? Might also be its favorite place to sleep, too.

Southern Loners

Have Korra and a dog that I believe is Naga. Oniliyn did an amazing job with designing and painting this whole piece. Didn't she do amazing with how she did all of the fur here?
I absolutely love how well she did with painting all of this. It's gorgeous! And don't forget to check out this piece's comments back on Oniliyn's dA page! They explain some about how Korra had to grow up alone and all of that.

These three pieces were so amazing. I am personally in love with how Oniliyn designs and paints her work! Here's the link to her dA gallery, go check out the rest of her art!

Feature 120--Zeemalken

OC - Meridia

Interesting! Zeemilken mentions this character is a human/demon breed who normally doesn't show emotion on her face. (She has emotions, just doesn't show them.) I have to wonder exactly how this character works in her story. And can I mention how nice that hair looks? I love how Zeemalken painted that.
Also in love with that scythe. That has to be a very fun weapon to write about.

OC - Gwen

Love that smirk on Gwen's face; it looks like someone is about to get served a very painful burst. Bet they totally deserve it.
The blonde that was used in her hair seems so realistic to me. Those clothes she's wearing look amazing. Zeemalken gave some great attention to all of it, don't you think? I think my favorites are the skirt and the gold that is holding up the edge of the boots.

Zeeva

This tiger, Zeeva, belongs to Gwen from our last image.
And oh. my. gosh. Look at that fur! If only I could scratch that cat without the obvious problems that would come from it...Argh, it would so be worth it!

These three pieces are from Zeemalken's dA, weren't they amazing? Make sure you check out the folders along the top of the gallery to be able to see all of her work!

Feature 88--Anime-Cat-Art

The model for this adorable picture was adopted 4 days ago, at time of writing this post. Didn't Maya take the very best pose? Don't tell me that cats don't have a clue what people are doing. XD
Anime-Cat-Art did such a good job on this! And of course, the cat lover that I am would put this one as the first on the feature... Welp! Just love cats with me and everything will be just fine.

Seven characters on the same image! Isn't that just amazing? And I love how busy the whole space is without overwhelming everything! Anime-Cat-Art definitely knows how to show the right amount of space between everyone and I seriously love the splashing in the water at front.
This looks like such the fun place to be!

There's a reason I was holding this one until the end piece and I hope that it amazes you the same that it does me! The camera seriously does appear to be looking down over the mermaid here. I can't imagine the difficulty that Anime-Cat-Art had to get this to work out for her but I'm so so happy that she worked it out!
And isn't the mermaid's eyes just painted so very well? They look so pretty to me. Honestly, she just looks so amazed at the birds over her and it is perfect in my eyes.

So, after seeing all three of these pieces, you want to see what else she can paint, right? Anime-Cat-Art's gallery has so many other super well done images! Don't forget to check out all the folders, too!
