Norux Anihes defending his volcano

Wheee... First, I am never going to draw so many stones again. (So I claim. I give it a short number of weeks til it happens again for some reason.)

Norux Anihes, redraw of 2015 image

Whee. It's time to paint this, things are working great right now! The fire and magma behind him is going to be so fun to paint and that fireball he's shooting forward is going to be amazing I hope!

...the idea works in my mind so we'll see soon if it works in paint. XD

Going to draw Norux like the 2015 image!

Here is what I have at the second, those feet are bothering me now. (Think what they'll do when I get to fix his costume!) Can't wait to get this whole bit to work out.

Redrawing this image

Using his new clothes

And PureRef this time instead of just looking at a second or third window. So far, PureRef's been doing quite well for me so here's a link if anyone's interested: https://www.pureref.com/ Basically it can keep all of your references in one space instead of a dozen extra tabs, quite useful!

Feature 193--ConfuzzledLion

Beidou Fanart

The first thing I noticed on this piece was the fabric on her shoulders. It looks so furry; I so enjoy the texture that ConfuzzledLion put on that portion! And speaking of texture, what do you think about how lovely the character's hair came out? It's perfect!
Special thoughts to how the ear was painted, too. I personally cannot get them drawn at all so to see how someone was able to shape it properly is so interesting. Absolutely have to give this piece an excellent mark!

Lighting Study

This is fun to see. Studies of all kinds are an artist's lifeblood; don't you think that ConfuzzledLion did such a great job with this one? I personally enjoy how the light just barely touches the chin bones. And just look how well the paler color on the hair came out.
Something that my eyes keep going back to is the character's eyes in this study. I wonder what she's looking at? Why whatever it is has such a nice focus?
In all, lovely a lovely work.

Cyberpunk

And finally, the most fun piece of these three! We can see here how the light studies had to have been learned well and I'm personally fully enjoying how we can barely see the figure in a quick glance--a ninja or another quiet and quickly moving character would have to take the few moments of confusion. In the dA page, ConfuzzledLion mentions that they played their music list on random to see how to build the character I can see it, can you? Like how the hand is metallic of some form--robotic or just a replacement? And I wonder what kind of tool that is on or in the other hand?
Very fun work!

You have got to see more of ConfuzzleLion's work! The link is here, definitely drop by and spend some time.

Feature 167--HeartOfTheFrozenCrow

...Friends?

I have to admit that I know so little about Hollow Knight. But aren't these two characters drawn and painted so well?
My eyes keep going back to what the two are sitting on. They appear to be something like pill bugs or something that tiny. Their source of light is also fun, maybe they broke up some creature's egg and the little gnats inside it provide the light, while the two have a long awaited rest. Even if they won't be friends for long...

Azure

A crow in a cloak...one who is often mis-gendered, as I was told when I made the same mistake. Poor boy!
He looks kinda like one of those crows that we would see designed on a pyramid or something in that area. He also seems like he may fit well in a Hollow Knight story, too. This piece gives me so many ideas to play with in my mind, it's an excellent character design!

Even the backgrounds take work

This is the one that drew me to FrozenCrow's work. Can you see the detail in the wall? It had to have taken an age by itself and I just love that floor design. Don't forget that shadow under the wall, it's placed perfectly!
Could see this as a room that's just waiting to be moved into. There are so many ideas that can work for it--a cute little dining room; maybe a reading area? Whatever is put here, make sure the bird likes the idea. It clearly lives in this little area so make this space comfortable!

These pieces were all so fun to see and imagine scenes and ideas about! If you'd like to see more of her work, here is HeartOfTheFrozenCrow's gallery!

Feature 165 -- sphelon8565

Battle Rehime | Ace Gallants

Love the characters that sphelon8565 drew here! He mentions that there are a few video game characters as well as the obvious comic characters. I think that he put all of them in the perfect places for this whole group, it definitely keeps things interesting.
The sketch for this piece was done in 2015 and he links to it in the artist comments. He's also been great in keeping up a fanfiction and linking to it--I'll post the link to that when I'm signing off!

Battle Rehime | To the Sky

This one has to be my favorite image from this feature. It was sketched in 2017 and it's no wonder that he was able to paint it so well. I personally love the clouds floating behind them and just how well the ground beneath them was designed.
Wonder what the ship is called? Have to have seen it somewhere...but let's just look at that one in armor! A Skywraith Mage, if I've read the artist comments proper?
And I so have to say it again; Sphelon8565 does perfect in positioning the characters!

Battle Rehime | Young Leaders

Here are several of the characters in his story meeting up in one of the places! Again, I have to go on about how well I enjoy the work done. The room they're in looks so busy but a great place for friendly training.
...knowing how some shows do, I bet the gals wiped the floor with them briefly. Even a real training combat would be pretty cool in the area!

All three of these pieces have been so fun to work with, thank you Sphelon8565! Here is his deviantart gallery. His Wix link is here and his Wattpad is right here. Head over and check everything out!

Feature 152--Nenril-Tf

Cassilda Brandis

We start off with a character that Nenril-Tf herself calls a bit of a troll character, a bit of a thief and, I bet, a little of everything to make Cassilda a proper troublemaker when the times come. Bet that it's so fun to play her! (I love her already.)
What's even more interesting is that Nenril mentions that she plays in LARP. I've always wanted to see one of those play out, it has to be so much fun.

Sailor Uranus

This is a redraw of a piece that Nenril had done previously, there is a link showing what the earlier version had been. I like how this version came out, it looks like you're watching her as she has just taken off to reach some villain or troublemaker.
The colors worked out really nicely for this piece and she followed her reference perfectly, in my opinion. (Reference is also linked in the artist comments.) Excellent work!

Edward Elric

Nenril did an amazing job with this piece, don't you think? She got the character to come front and center with the way she painted that blue and white background. And I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I squealed about the cloak around him. It looks like it just caught the perfect amount of air underneath it to help the eye focus on Edward.
Love how she drew his hair and (human) arm. And isn't that metallic sheen on the other arm just amazing? I wonder how far that metal has to go; was it just a replacement for a torn-off arm, or did he need more than that? Anyway, I love this piece just for all there is to see and for how many questions it makes me ask. Super!

It was such a treat to get to write about Nenril-Tf's work again! Here is the link to her deviantArt gallery, go check out her other pieces; it'll so be worth your time.

Feature 151--Toonicorn

Eternal Friends Pet Portrait

It's so cute how the white dog, the one who apparently passed and inspired this image, is holding onto that star. Toonicorn mentions that "the bridge of memories cannot be sundered" and I can't help but agree? That star, then, must be how quiet memories are stirred and shared.
Love how the fur on these two came out and can I just squeal about how the cloud and rainbow were rendered? I'm sure the people that she painted this for were so glad to have such memories settled in such a great piece. Beautiful work!

Epitaph

I'm really glad that most zoos aren't allowed to just keep animals in a concrete prison anymore. This poor cheetah in this image looks just like it's dreaming to tear into its jailman...
It's so hard to see this cheetah so helpless like how Toonicorn has displayed here. I keep imagining how this wild cat would tear itself free in some form or another. And just take a look at how broken the concrete beside the bars is--just about ready to free that cat with one or two crashes into it!
Again, just so very glad that "zookeepers" aren't allowed to do this anymore!

Spur Your Imagination

Oh how I remember dreaming of roping the moon and swinging from it in a gentle arc! What do you think about when you see this piece?
Didn't Toonicorn make this so nice? I love how she added the dragon at the top and then how you can see a circus wheel down at the bottom? It's really no wonder that deviantart gave this piece a Daily Deviation, super work!

I was so excited to feature these three! Toonicorn's deviantart is right here and remember to check out both https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/j-meadows and https://pixels.com/profiles/j-meadows/shop!

Battle's End

I've been rather sick this past few months and have been messing with Sims 4 to continue a weekly post. But yesterday, I felt like playing a bit more with my painting project. Attempted a bit of texture with it on the stones (may need to lower the opacity on those layers) and have thrown some arm and leg plans around to be covered up by what uniform the...'willing amputees', let's call them...had been wearing.

Painted! I don't know if it's actually done or not but I'm tired of staring at it. XD Time to start a new picture!

Feature 144--IzARTela

Cancer

Always do enjoy someone's interpretation of how the signs of the Zodiac looks. This is great! Cancer definitely works as a ballerina and don't you just love the dress that IzARTela put on her? It's so pretty in those shades of pink.
She was inspired by Art Nouveau style when she designed this. Doesn't it just work for this one? And the change from arms to claws, from the hair to the part of shell on her head, just accents this whole piece. Excellent work!

Le chat avec des fleurs

Eee, this is a ragdoll cat that IzARTela owns. Hasn't she done a beautiful job in painting him? It really does look like you could just run your fingers through this one's fur. And those whiskers are 100% in the position of 'cat who is trying to figure out what their weird twoleg pet is doing'. I love it!
And when you can tear your view away from the cat's adorable blue eyes, aren't the flowers in front designed so perfectly? So very great!

Decay

I was immediately drawn to this piece because of how well it shows its subject. The mask is broken and always worn above the troubles and issues that one may have...is it any wonder that the mask itself might be a bit broken from what all it takes? And I'm fully in love with how IzARTela designed the torso and arms of this character. It just makes me wonder what is being hidden and how long the character has had to pretend to not be what they truly are. Love it!

These three works are amazing! If you'd like to see more, drop by IzARTela's dA gallery! She's done so much work to think about and enjoy. ^^

Feature 140--WilhelmLyons

91 Minecraft 2 3 (Skull Painting)

This definitely looks like a skull in that Minecraft 'painting'. And I love how well he put together that world the skull is floating in. Also that moon. That moon is perfect...It had to be so fun to get this piece designed.

86 Far Far Away

What I understand is that this is Shrek 2 fanart. Goodness knows that I didn't watch the movie...but just look at how WilhelmLyons built this! And it's a wallpaper. Click this picture here so you can get to the full size version and download it.

65 Futuristic Picture 1

I thoroughly enjoy the colors used in this piece. Take a look at the lights coming from the roof of the nearest building! They're perfect! They remind me of something we'd see in a more metropolitan city.
The piece is filling my mind with 'what could have been' and 'what it all is'. Love things like that!
Be sure to check out the full view of this piece in his gallery. He shares his reference and it all works perfectly!

WilhelmLyons gave me these three awesome pieces. I adore his style! If you'd love to see more of his work, be sure to check out his deviantart gallery! Also do yourself a favor and join his Patreon. The money requested will be worth it!

Feature 125--EmiDaWeird

Alisa Animated Icon

Please forgive me if you can't read that purple on purple, it's "Click Me I move". (It links to EmiDaWeird's page where she uploaded this cute little GIF icon; hers doesn't have such unforgiving purple on it).
And the icon is just adorable! I love how she styled the hair and especially that she was able to get the animation to work so cleanly. Especially with how the hair itself moves through Alisa's smile and hand sign!
It had to have taken hours. Such amazing work always does!

Vivian Barkridge

Speaking of more forgiving purple-on-purple images, what do you think about this one? I personally love that fire on the end of the broom and Vivian's clothes are tops! It definitely looks to be made of the same velvety material that we see actors wear. And her boots are a perfect match to the whole thing.
Love how EmiDaWeird got that hair to work out, though. It's totally black enough to be something of an afterthought while we look at everything else but this painting would have totally lost out without it!

Alisa Bosconovich

And this image is where I learned that Alisa was a video game character from Tekken. It can be so interesting to see exactly what kind of character can be dropped into a fighting game, isn't it?
I think that EmiDaWeird did a great job with the way the clothing comes together at her torso and waist. It all seems to make sense for this one! And those wings look very amazing. I wonder how they help her fly? Is it with jet power or is it some kind of magic to keep in line with those 'feather like' parts?

EmiDaWeird's deviantart gallery is right here. Click on that link to see even more amazing pieces and remember to check out her folders along the top!

Feature 124--Digsaw

Chameleon Girl

First thing that I've noticed about this piece is how the glasses look. They definitely bring to mind what one sees when they look at a chameleon--those big eyes and that short horn over their nose. (...in her hair, I mean. The glasses are pushed up. Isn't it so cute!)
Also, I love how this hairstyle curls like a chameleon's tail. Yes, she has one of those too, but the hair seems to be so perfect for the head design for this gal. A very fun piece!

Some pretty Gals

Can't argue with Digsaw here, this group of characters do look pretty cute. I'm most impressed by how every one of these gals have some form of personality that's so very easy to see! Dunno how he's done it but I do love this!

Fullmetal Alchemist - Human Sacrifice

This is such an amazing piece. I don't really know what all happens in Fullmetal Alchemist; but isn't the perspective in this piece just amazing? (Looking at the character's armblade and leg for example!)
Love the colors here, too. He's just forced even the darkest of color to be coming forward toward us!

If you've enjoyed this feature like I have, how about checking out Digsaw's dA gallery? I personally love his style and it's been a real treat to go through all of his work!

Feature 123--Ewen Feuillatre

Mortelle Est La Nuit

This is the piece that drew me to Ewen's gallery to begin with. Isn't it just amazing the way that he used the blue and white to help show the limit to the figure's black body? I also love how he got the closed eye colors to work out.
It does seem like the figure is definitely wearing makeup or something, doesn't it? I wonder how much work it took to get all of this to adjust right? I know I've said it twice but this piece really does amaze me.

Homme Bleu

In this piece, Ewen mentions it's a photomanipulation. I'm glad he did, because I'm not sure that I would have noticed. Look at those marks on the figure's face, don't they look just like brushstrokes? And take a look at the background; specifically the upper left. That seems like a leaf design to me, not to mention that part just below it.
I just keep having more and more to look at the longer I take looking at this one. Amazing work!

Oizys

This one is interesting, I can only get glimpses of the image's story by reading the tags on dA!
What I can understand is that she's a Greek goddess and that, for some reason, she's sad. The image does look like she's cracking apart, doesn't it? I wonder if these brush strokes on her face are meant to be fire...or maybe that she's encased in ice with reflections showing what she is seeing?
Love this work!

These have been some pretty great paintings, haven't they? Be sure to check out Ewen Feuillatre's dA gallery to see even more of what he creates, especially with color!

Feature 120--Zeemalken

OC - Meridia

Interesting! Zeemilken mentions this character is a human/demon breed who normally doesn't show emotion on her face. (She has emotions, just doesn't show them.) I have to wonder exactly how this character works in her story. And can I mention how nice that hair looks? I love how Zeemalken painted that.
Also in love with that scythe. That has to be a very fun weapon to write about.

OC - Gwen

Love that smirk on Gwen's face; it looks like someone is about to get served a very painful burst. Bet they totally deserve it.
The blonde that was used in her hair seems so realistic to me. Those clothes she's wearing look amazing. Zeemalken gave some great attention to all of it, don't you think? I think my favorites are the skirt and the gold that is holding up the edge of the boots.

Zeeva

This tiger, Zeeva, belongs to Gwen from our last image.
And oh. my. gosh. Look at that fur! If only I could scratch that cat without the obvious problems that would come from it...Argh, it would so be worth it!

These three pieces are from Zeemalken's dA, weren't they amazing? Make sure you check out the folders along the top of the gallery to be able to see all of her work!

Feature 118 -- Vancitta

Techno God - First color

This is so amazing with how many characters are in this! I understand that this is post-apocalyptic too, isn't it so cool? And goodness...what would happen if that one machine broke in some way, since it looks like this one machine is making breathable air for at least all of this crowd.
Let's just hope that doesn't happen!

Post Apo Bicycle

The bicycle looks like it could and would be so difficult to control. I don't entirely know why my thoughts go for that but look at how empty everything is, aside from those breathing pipes. It also makes me hope that the pipes are quite strong in case these bicycles are to run over them.
Still, it's kinda nice that these kids can still have a bit of entertainment for everything. Maybe the place isn't as terrible as I originally thought? It's so fun to think about everything that this piece presents us with!

Techno God 3

Very interesting...so these guys are able to drink wine and beer but they have the air pipes anyway. Hm. This is just more proof that things may not be as terrible anymore. But I can't help but wonder how they get the drinks in their mouths! They surely can't take the air pipes off, right? It's still very nice to see that these people are able to make the best of their lives, though.
Another painting that makes me think about it. Excellent work, Vancitta!

I'm sure that you're ready to see more of Vancitta's artwork now, right? Here is the link to her gallery on deviantart. Don't forget to check out the folders along the top!

Mother's Day painting!

Dad asked me to paint something for Mother's Day on the day as a surprise for my Mom.
So I took the whole day and this is what came out of the idea!

The first version we printed for her is too big for the picture frame she bought. I offered to print another version for her so it would fit in the picture frame she bought but...nope. That was a no go.
Still! It's so great to see and hear how much she enjoys how this came out.

Feature 117--MomoDoesArts

Portrait of Dodol

This is such a cute cat portrait! And just look at those ears of confusion. "What was all that about?" XD Or something like that. It's certainly 100% cat. I personally love how the eyes came out. But those stripes, too, looking completely fuzzy? Makes me want to petpet this cat, if he or she would have it at all!
I wonder how long this took? It's a gorgeous piece of work.

Portrait of Machin

Another super well done painting of a cat! Love how well that white on the chest came out. And how absolutely fuzzy! I'm again in love with how the eyes look, too.
Knowing how cats can be, it had to be difficult to keep its attention like that. Then again...XD Absolutely gorgeous baby there, excellent work!

Portrait of Princesse

This cat has this little bit of offended curiosity to it. Not cooperative enough to really want to turn its head, but look how far to the side it's watching!
And just look how furry this cat has turned out! Makes me want to just cuddle this one so very much. ...probably to more offense for the cat, without doubt. But I love the painting here, amazing work!

These three pieces were absolutely amazing! Go check out MomoDoesArts' whole gallery, and please enjoy yourselves while you're there.

Feature 113--E-Ocasio

Loud House style Jem and Jerrica

Oh wow, who here remembers Jem and the Holograms? I've never seen Loud House but Jerrica and Jem fit so well in this style! In my opinion, E-Ocasio did so very well with the hair and dresses. And can I just draw attention to the rooms that he put these two into? The rooms look perfect in the Loud House style. We can see exactly how normal Jerrica's business room right next to the mirrors and light that Jem spends her time in!
Super work!

Bees

I love how very cute E-Ocasio has drawn all of these bees here. Especially that queen's crown! Those flowers are just so sweet, too.
To me, this looks like something that would be shared in a young child's book. The style fits perfectly, with just how adorable everything is? Love it!

New Year's Eve Wish

That yellow/gold fabric matches the rest of the design and colors so very well, giving the dark suits the push they need to bring the characters forward. I personally love how the gold hasn't swallowed up the woman's blonde hair. And it's oh so pretty how we can clearly see the snow outside the window.
Speaking of the suits; look how well E-Ocasio has drawn that tuxedo the man's wearing!

I personally enjoy the style that all three of these were done in! Here is E-Ocasio's deviantart gallery so you can see even more of his work. Don't forget to check out the folders along the top to see types of work that E-Ocasio has done
