Feature 225--InHKnl

Mask

I really enjoy the glow at the bottom climbing up the character, as if he's being lit in the perfect way to get detail on the fabric he's wearing. And the way it goes from red to black up to a dull gray light at the top is really fun, too. I have a question about his fingers...are the things covering them a protection or more like a set of claws to use if someone got far too close?
Isn't the red inside the coat's neck glowing quite perfectly with the characters ice blue eyes? I really enjoy this piece! Excellent work!

Makima Train

The first thing I was drawn to on this image is the eyes and how the background looks as the train's just gliding along. Her eyes are gorgeous, in my opinion, and the color helps me be able to see her nose and down to her mouth; which are also quite well done. It also doesn't escape me how well the sunlight is on her hair. The color and shadows on it looks like I could just run my fingers through! (Provided she'd let me, course. She looks tired.)
Poor lady looks like she's about to fall asleep, if she could lean on that window. Either going to work or finally getting away from it, maybe? Whichever way, this piece is very well done and is just begging for a story to be told.

Whisky at the bar

Drawing this image from the hip is super well done and fits the design perfectly! I hope that it's safe enough in the area to allow someone like the woman in focus to actually enjoy her drink. (Or maybe it is safe because she's more busy enjoying her drink instead of having to deal with or create trouble?)
It would be wrong to not mention the detail on the barstools. And I wonder what else this bar sells? Just look at the boxes behind her on the shelves!
Really enjoy this piece, lovely work!

These pieces are some excellent work and I enjoyed seeing them! If you want to see more of their artwork, InHKnl's gallery is here!

Feature 171--DTKinetic

You Just Might be Okay

This is a piece that shares the floating crystal overtop a Sim's head. Wouldn't it just be absolutely perfect if we had something to actually show us our moods; considering how difficult it can be to break through one of the worst downtimes?
And just take a look how well DTKinetic painted this. The character trapped in such darkness but the little doobob providing the light that shows the character should be okay eventually. How the character will eventually crack through this dark point. It's lovely!

Monolithic

When I saw this piece, my breath was taken from me for a moment. The city goes back into the background just perfectly, and just look at how well the city lights itself! And these two cars in the very front are perfect for such a place.
Those clouds coming up from the background were just perfect to help share the streetlight in the foreground. The lights in the buildings perfectly show the busy times and hours of a never sleeping town. Love this whole piece!

Hybrid

Just look at the gorgeous painting talent that went into this one! The colors just brought me straight in as if saying, "Welcome, friend! Kick your feet back and rest for a time." And it'd be so worth being able to get a vacation in such a place.
The cacti and palm trees in the front are gorgeous and I'm always drawn in by such a gorgeous lake; like what has been painted on the right. And getting to the town in the background would still be a lovely trip, going through the pine forest on the left while you followed an old, dirt road.

If you've enjoyed these pieces and would like to see more like them, DTKinetic's dA gallery is right here. You'll find many many more landscapes, architecture, and just so many cute characters to check out!

Feature 167--HeartOfTheFrozenCrow

...Friends?

I have to admit that I know so little about Hollow Knight. But aren't these two characters drawn and painted so well?
My eyes keep going back to what the two are sitting on. They appear to be something like pill bugs or something that tiny. Their source of light is also fun, maybe they broke up some creature's egg and the little gnats inside it provide the light, while the two have a long awaited rest. Even if they won't be friends for long...

Azure

A crow in a cloak...one who is often mis-gendered, as I was told when I made the same mistake. Poor boy!
He looks kinda like one of those crows that we would see designed on a pyramid or something in that area. He also seems like he may fit well in a Hollow Knight story, too. This piece gives me so many ideas to play with in my mind, it's an excellent character design!

Even the backgrounds take work

This is the one that drew me to FrozenCrow's work. Can you see the detail in the wall? It had to have taken an age by itself and I just love that floor design. Don't forget that shadow under the wall, it's placed perfectly!
Could see this as a room that's just waiting to be moved into. There are so many ideas that can work for it--a cute little dining room; maybe a reading area? Whatever is put here, make sure the bird likes the idea. It clearly lives in this little area so make this space comfortable!

These pieces were all so fun to see and imagine scenes and ideas about! If you'd like to see more of her work, here is HeartOfTheFrozenCrow's gallery!

Altera Power Demonstration with background

All that's needed right now is a little more work on Zen and the brothers are finished! Can't wait for that.

But that background! I shared pexels.com on the 12th and it's been a great resource to check out. Let's talk about PureRef too...yes it's another window up on the screen but it has been very helpful to keep the reference images in a single place!

It's finally working!

I'm so thrilled that I could scream! Finally got some of the mid-ground to work--the dirt path finally actually cooperated! The hill wants some more detail, as does the water, but the background is finally cooperating.

Backgrounds like these are always so fun to work with, can't wait til it finally comes out.
