Feature 212--ArtofLotu

Caution: Be aware this artist's work is a bit creepy in its style. If you're not in the mental state to see this, please wait until the next feature. Thank you.

POWER

I do really love how this character is stepping up on that hammer. I like to imagine that they had crushed the creature that was using it, so this is a whole 'come at me!' pose until they start attacking the next one that goes after them. XD
Wonder what kind of area this character lives in? Are they small enough to be in the insect section of the ground or are they in one of the many layers of their hellish landscape? This design seems to work either way and I just love it!

Salloween Day 29--Elevator

Another image that's so very fun to imagine with! Is this child the costume that demon in back pretends to have or is it in the middle of commanding the kid? And just look at how well the elevator is set up to be so easy for the demonic shadow to live in!
And yes...if the child is just the costume, I can easily see it bringing prey into the elevator by making it seem like the kid is just terrified of things. Those poor sweet people who'd check on him...

Haunted

I can't help but think that this is the result of someone coming to check on that kid in the previous piece. The hair in the foreground looks almost like the soul of someone being slowly wiped out by that kid with whatever that light is coming from. It's so fun to imagine all these things!
Of course, maybe it's just that the character with green hair has stolen the soul of the person owning the hair. That one in the front of the scene, of course, having collapsed; stunned and slowly passing away while the character in front just takes off to find yet another victim.

I really enjoyed this artist's style and pieces! If you'd like to see more pieces with this theme, artoflotu's gallery is right here!

Feature 195--Cuestionador

Lurking in the Dark

First off, so very much respect for any kind of art like this. Black and White with no shade of grey is so hard to control! Super work with it, Cuestionador!
The monster in the front seems to be daring one to take even one more step forward, with that creature in the back currently busy with what it's working on. Or perhaps the one in front isn't a monster, just someone who had been forced to see so many people ignore them, finally getting the label?

Batman Collage Sketch

In Cuestionador's artist comments, he mentions that this is a homage to "Detective Comics 31 by Sheldon Moldoff". Hasn't he touched on everything just right?
The Mad Monk in the foreground, making tracks away from Batman with his captive. It's not a doubt that he (Batman) is going to spin the Mad Monk in all kinds of circles to get the captive free. In the piece, I can see mountains in front of Batman and the cities in front? Really enjoying looking at this!

Time is Running Out

What looks like an atomic bomb has gone off in the background. How many people alive are as robots while all of this lines up, step by step?
Can we just take a moment to look at that smoke from the bomb? On my first glance, I likened the colors to what we'd see on a weather map, red being the most in danger and the other shades just building up into it! Let's take a look at all the watches too. So many clocks but never enough time...

These pieces are so very cool to get to see. If you'd like to see more of Cuestionador's artwork and collages, his gallery is right here!

Feature 171--DTKinetic

You Just Might be Okay

This is a piece that shares the floating crystal overtop a Sim's head. Wouldn't it just be absolutely perfect if we had something to actually show us our moods; considering how difficult it can be to break through one of the worst downtimes?
And just take a look how well DTKinetic painted this. The character trapped in such darkness but the little doobob providing the light that shows the character should be okay eventually. How the character will eventually crack through this dark point. It's lovely!

Monolithic

When I saw this piece, my breath was taken from me for a moment. The city goes back into the background just perfectly, and just look at how well the city lights itself! And these two cars in the very front are perfect for such a place.
Those clouds coming up from the background were just perfect to help share the streetlight in the foreground. The lights in the buildings perfectly show the busy times and hours of a never sleeping town. Love this whole piece!

Hybrid

Just look at the gorgeous painting talent that went into this one! The colors just brought me straight in as if saying, "Welcome, friend! Kick your feet back and rest for a time." And it'd be so worth being able to get a vacation in such a place.
The cacti and palm trees in the front are gorgeous and I'm always drawn in by such a gorgeous lake; like what has been painted on the right. And getting to the town in the background would still be a lovely trip, going through the pine forest on the left while you followed an old, dirt road.

If you've enjoyed these pieces and would like to see more like them, DTKinetic's dA gallery is right here. You'll find many many more landscapes, architecture, and just so many cute characters to check out!

Feature 168--lifethroughjournals

Art Journal Page, May 2021

Praying to a god that she isn't even sure is there. Don't we all have that feeling at times?
I love that background, it's so gorgeous. The woman is just reaching up to an empty sky that's going darker and darker...her heart must be so broken right now. Having such difficulty going through life at the moment.
LifeThroughJournals did such a lovely job with that dress! The color against that deep red, going up into blackness, really does help show the life struggling to continue. And can we just take a moment and squeal about how well she did the hair? Excellent work!

Art Journal Page, May 2017

A witch under the full moon with two of her very well done familiars. We can see the moon's power gathering around her hand as she prepares some quiet spell. I hope it's quiet anyway. She certainly looks powerful enough to cause an issue if the need came!
Love how this piece makes me keep thinking. First, I saw a lake behind her with lighting from homes on the other shore. But no...is it perhaps her magic creating both of those familiars' bodies? It makes great sense why we'd see the moon so clearly inside since she's possibly using that power. This one is so fun to get to view! So many stories can be made from it.

PUPA Challenge 3, March 2021

What I can learn about 'PUPA Challenge' on a gallery is that they take a photo and try to paint from it, creating their own piece. Like an insect going into a pupa between the immature and mature stages--pointing toward how someone can grow into a full artist while in this stage.
Personally, I love how lifethroughjournals has created this from the photo she used as a reference. This is gorgeous--like the heart is becoming life (look at the plus signs at the lower left!) and is perhaps becoming like a tree, where the life continues to grow?
Gorgeous work, it's so inspiring!
