Feature 211--kitpaint

Rocky Lounging

If this isn't a cat, I don't know what is and I entirely loved it. I wonder how long fuzz decided to lay like this for kitpaint?
But isn't this ink work just amazing? That cat looks so fuzzy and I enjoy how the detail on the cat was designed. Aah, I just want to rub that fur so much! Doesn't it seem like there'd be such a perfect feeling under the fingers?

Lottie

Oooh, a pretty little black cat, at least as Kitpaint wrote on her page. This one  looks so very furry, doesn't it? And how did the fuzzball allow for the sketch without demanding the payment in all pets? (I mean, it's very fast to take a photo, but it's quite fun to imagine the kitty sitting there like has to happen for painters.) I really enjoy this piece, excellent work!

Lion Cub in Pen

So I love the shadow under this lion cub. Temporarily, it made me think of grass under it but...wouldn't that just be right anyway? And, like the first cat drawing in this feature, there certainly seems to be a lovely amount of texture on this piece. I wonder how long it took to learn that skill?
Amazing work all around, I love it!

I wish I could control a fineliner like this! Check out kitpaint's gallery to see more of their artwork, well worth it!

Feature 195--Cuestionador

Lurking in the Dark

First off, so very much respect for any kind of art like this. Black and White with no shade of grey is so hard to control! Super work with it, Cuestionador!
The monster in the front seems to be daring one to take even one more step forward, with that creature in the back currently busy with what it's working on. Or perhaps the one in front isn't a monster, just someone who had been forced to see so many people ignore them, finally getting the label?

Batman Collage Sketch

In Cuestionador's artist comments, he mentions that this is a homage to "Detective Comics 31 by Sheldon Moldoff". Hasn't he touched on everything just right?
The Mad Monk in the foreground, making tracks away from Batman with his captive. It's not a doubt that he (Batman) is going to spin the Mad Monk in all kinds of circles to get the captive free. In the piece, I can see mountains in front of Batman and the cities in front? Really enjoying looking at this!

Time is Running Out

What looks like an atomic bomb has gone off in the background. How many people alive are as robots while all of this lines up, step by step?
Can we just take a moment to look at that smoke from the bomb? On my first glance, I likened the colors to what we'd see on a weather map, red being the most in danger and the other shades just building up into it! Let's take a look at all the watches too. So many clocks but never enough time...

These pieces are so very cool to get to see. If you'd like to see more of Cuestionador's artwork and collages, his gallery is right here!

Feature 192--GrafvonEichenlaub1

Early 100 years war

This is a nice watercolor painting of the early 100 years war, don't you think? I have an awful time with watercolor myself, so full compliments over how well he controlled it!
I wonder, too, if this was meant to show something of the actual war or if this is something created from his own stories and characters. Either way, the weapons were drawn well and I enjoy the helmets that the soldiers on the ground are wearing. Lovely job!

Demon of castle Houska

This one was drawn for Halloween of 2001 and I can make up all kinds of stories for it!
Is the demon haunting the place or somehow controlled by it? Has he been sent as a punishment to those high living folks in the castle or is he being sent out to see that the royal family inside remains in control?
On that, I do enjoy how dark the castle and the area around is. Of course we'd see the demon in the stark of night while he plans his next move. Such a fun work!

Ritter in Maximilian style Armor

This is a well done bit of armor! And just look at that weapon he seems ready to bring down onto his foe! May his enemy go down quickly.
On top of that, don't you see how well the armor was drawn? None of it is too busy to distract from the next piece we look at; amazing since it's the whole suit of armor. It's amazing work, don't you think!

I really did enjoy featuring these pieces! To see more of GrafvonEichenlaub1's work, here is the link to his gallery. Hope you like it too!

Feature 175--ScottMackayArt

The Mandalorian and the Child

Have to squeal about how "Baby Yoda" (actually named Grogu) looks. Of course he'd be flying along in a small baby basket, fully proper in the Star Wars fantasy. I should really try to see some of this show, Cannot help but wonder how badly Grogu drives this Mandalorian insane.
Love how ScottMackayArt painted this desert-like background, it looks exactly like how I'd imagine a location in the Star Wars universe. Can you believe that this was painted in watercolor? That perfect sky is watercolor. The armor and fabric on Mando too. How hard was it to control the paints to make them stay where they were meant? And how in the world did he manage to make everything so solid looking?
Amazing work!

The Wizard's Library

There is Gandolf's hat! And then the map, isn't it painted great? On top of all that, I am amazed by how perfect that book in the middle of the desk looks. Does the magic all around and in the scrolls happen to play or get used by the playing cards, I wonder? This area really does look like a perfect section to get to sit down and get to work in private...betcha that with the spellbooks and scrolls all around, it'd be so easy to hide the place in plain sight if needed. I wish that I could go through the books on that bookshelf. Wasn't it designed perfectly with all the items that fit in each of the cubbies?
If you click the image and check out his artist comments, there's a whole 'spot them all' game that he actually put in this piece. All of the items are there, too!

Jenners

A full pen and ink piece! And you have got to respect the perspective knowledge and measurements that had to go into this drawing. It's amazing to me. According to Scott, it took a few weeks...I can see why it would take that long. And I really enjoy getting to see the lines on the left and on top that he used to help measure parts out.
He definitely has a a form of control of the ink he used on this. Full and total respect for this piece entirely!

You have to see more of ScottMackayArt's work, right? His gallery is here; go and get lost in all of the work he's put all his time in!

Feature 168--lifethroughjournals

Art Journal Page, May 2021

Praying to a god that she isn't even sure is there. Don't we all have that feeling at times?
I love that background, it's so gorgeous. The woman is just reaching up to an empty sky that's going darker and darker...her heart must be so broken right now. Having such difficulty going through life at the moment.
LifeThroughJournals did such a lovely job with that dress! The color against that deep red, going up into blackness, really does help show the life struggling to continue. And can we just take a moment and squeal about how well she did the hair? Excellent work!

Art Journal Page, May 2017

A witch under the full moon with two of her very well done familiars. We can see the moon's power gathering around her hand as she prepares some quiet spell. I hope it's quiet anyway. She certainly looks powerful enough to cause an issue if the need came!
Love how this piece makes me keep thinking. First, I saw a lake behind her with lighting from homes on the other shore. But no...is it perhaps her magic creating both of those familiars' bodies? It makes great sense why we'd see the moon so clearly inside since she's possibly using that power. This one is so fun to get to view! So many stories can be made from it.

PUPA Challenge 3, March 2021

What I can learn about 'PUPA Challenge' on a gallery is that they take a photo and try to paint from it, creating their own piece. Like an insect going into a pupa between the immature and mature stages--pointing toward how someone can grow into a full artist while in this stage.
Personally, I love how lifethroughjournals has created this from the photo she used as a reference. This is gorgeous--like the heart is becoming life (look at the plus signs at the lower left!) and is perhaps becoming like a tree, where the life continues to grow?
Gorgeous work, it's so inspiring!

If you enjoyed the work in this feature; lifethroughjournals' gallery is right here. Drop by so you can see even more great artwork!

Feature 164--Estheryu

Day of the Deviant

My jaw just dropped when I saw this piece. It's gorgeous!
There was a contest going when Estheryu created this; I so hope that she won something from it! Just look at that halo of stars around her head, along with those beautiful clouds behaving like sheets and blankets just over her form. Or perhaps it's to show that it is more hidden in the heights of her mind? Look how she's reaching up toward those planets, too.
Love it!

Doodle: Sunflower Skull

These skulls look very interesting set against the sunflower here. Maybe a comparison of life and death? Or perhaps it's just what just happened to come together as she worked on this?
It's also very interesting how the gal has those blue gems...maybe she's Life and is bringing the sunflower out to show that even death may not be the full end?
This is an amazing piece and it was so fun to see!

Fight Fish

This piece is amazing! How many fish can you count in it? And doesn't all of the lines here seem to act like fish themselves; floating free in the air?
Estheryu definitely seems to know how to paint the fish perfectly in this watercolor. I wonder how long it took her to add the color to this? She mentioned that the linework was a sketch that was done in 2016, too.
Was excellent to get to see this!

It was a real treat to get to see these pieces! To see more of Estheryu's amazing work, here is her deviantart! Drop by and spend some time here; it'll be well worth it!

Feature 162--Cuestionador

Between Two Worlds

Isn't this image just so interesting to look at! As Cuestionador says on the page, this is a collage and I personally LOVE it. To me, it seems to have a fiery cave on the left with the creature staring right into it. What I see on the right is that the static in the brain, hidden by the form of the person.
Did the person on the right maybe have to face that creature on the left? Are they maybe just keeping it secret that they themselves ARE the creature? If it ever became known, that's no doubt when the bomb would go off in some form or another...
Excellent work!

When Night Falls

This one is just waiting for the gates to open, as if she hadn't had plenty of men and women serving her. And of course all of them believe she was serving them. Behind the gate seems to remind me of a graveyard. Fits that red shape the succubus is leaning on perfectly. Maybe she's ready for those people who like to walk around one of those places?
Really enjoy this piece, great work!

Sketch 007: The Ghost

This ghost reminds me of one of those who track the people they're after. Maybe chasing them through the woods or a large mansion?
Loving how Cuestionador drew this creature. I wonder if this one sings their target to sleep or if it gets more out of them if it just scares the hell out of them? And how did this one die? It appears that she's long lost her chin and cheek were ripped off...
Love it, this is amazing work!

Was such a treat to get to see more of Cuestionador's work! If you'd like to see more work like what was shared, go to Cuestionador's gallery. It's more than worth your time!

Feature 156--Dracuria

Skull And Roses

Isn't the detail drawn on this skull so perfect? And when you can tear your eyes away from there, just look at how well the roses and vines have been drawn! My eyes keep going back to the eyesockets of the skull. Doesn't the shadow help set off the green and red on the roses?
Speaking of the colors! Dracuria mentions that she uses decotime twinmarkers? Haven't heard of them but they definitely can put out some perfect colors. It's always a treat to see when the tools can do what they're advertised. Just proves even more that she knows what she's doing with them.

Zombie and Moths

Here is my favorite of all the shared pieces. I just have to wonder how long it took to get all of this detail on the tree and on the zombie! The colors help to make it stand out perfectly! I hope that the zombie can find some form of rest in this place when it's finally put down.
And I'm more than aware that it is just a bit of tree behind the zombie, but that green and brown section just behind it's ear makes me think of how the zombie's hairstyle in life could have been. Seems like it could have just fit!

Mermay 2021

Another piece that shows Dracuria's skill in laying down her colors. This one is perfect in showing exactly how deep the water is in our current area. And just look at the plants that the Mermaid is hiding in. They're gorgeous!
Doesn't the mermaid look great with all of that around it? Just the right colors to help make it the focus! My eyes keep going for it's fin on the top of its head and those pretty yellow eyes. Love the subject and how it'd still be hidden if we were just a bit away. Super work!

These three pieces were amazing to see and share! Be certain to go to Dracuria's deviantart for more of her work. Also, check out her Instagram, Redbubble, and Teepublic if any of those catch your eye!

Feature 155--Serch2

Hunter

This was an attempt to draw a sexy looking male character...I think Serch2 did a good job of it!
Silly question: Do you guys think the cat or that sword spills more blood? Ooh, if the saber-tooth cat is more of a ridden animal, it could definitely slow the target or throw them a short distance...and before I realize it, a few minutes have passed with imagining what task they have in their tribe. XD
Excellent work, Serch2!

No Escape

I have to say that this is one very well shaded and designed piece. Could imagine this as some place just beside a wizard's spell-writing desk, the candle and glass bottles in easy reach. Don't you love the light against the glass and wood? That feather quill looks so soft too.
This poor fairy looks like she's exhausted herself trying to escape, too. (Because, of course, the wizard would have something to keep her in place!) It's probably unlikely that someone would buy the poor thing, too. Definitely not to just free her!

Silence

Serch2 mentions that this is an 'end of year' piece...the skull certainly makes me think that someone/something has been put to rest. Maybe the viewer is being instructed to be quiet as we walk nearby; allowed to have our last thoughts with them?
The design of the hair is gorgeous, it looks so properly thick. The feathers and flowers makes me wonder if this is a character that also leads someone to their new life? I adore pieces like this!

Weren't these pencil-works so amazing? I'll always respect people who can make pencils work like this! To see more of Serch2's artwork, here is their dA gallery.
Also! Don't forget to check out their Redbubble and Instagram galleries, it'll be well worth your time.

Feature 141--Avriia

[GIFT] Raphtalia

I can see why Avriia's boyfriend enjoyed this gift! The character, Raphtalia, is drawn with a great amount of skill and she stands out from the background perfectly! And doesn't it look like you could reach out and touch some of that fabric at her arms or get a feeling of that hair?
Adore pieces like this! Thanks for sharing it with me, Avriia!

[TW] Her Conviction

Caution: Cutting, self-harm, suicide, blood.
I enjoy the art behind the caution, it's very well done, but it gave me a bit of a shudder when I first saw it. Glad that she's made it out of the mental stormcloud she was in when she drew this piece!

Six Fanarts Challenge #5 - Naruto

For him to be on that kind of fire, he has to be preparing some super strong attack. Would hate to be the one deserving of that volley!
I'm in love with the folds in Naruto's sleeves and coat here. The way they're catching the light and shadow thrown by the fire he's gathering? Perfect!

If you enjoyed these three pieces she shared with me for the feature like I do, I know that you're going to love the rest of her work. Here is the link to Avriia's gallery!

Feature 139--Starfire-Productions

Together 'til the End

I wonder how long this image took, seeing that they had to draw and paint it from the start? These two definitely look like the large cats they are! Can't help but adore those long strands of grass and how they were placed, too.
But lets go back to the two tigers. Don't they just look perfect? The stripes look just as broken as what you'd actually see on a tiger. And the yellow/oranges in the tigers' fur? If only I could get a colored pencil to look half that good!

Medieval Princess

Oh I wish I could remember who this actress is! Darn brain not exactly working today...XD
Edit (9:40pm): This isn't an actress. This is their sister!! Doubly amazing that they even had a hand in designing the dress. But still, hasn't Starfire-Productions done an amazing job drawing her? And just oh. my. gosh. Take a look at how well they drew and painted the eyes! I've personally just been stuck watching them, myself. It's great!
The dress also looks amazing, isn't it?
Love this whole piece!

He Told Me Enough

And finally, a very nice fanart to end with!

Starfire-Productions has some pretty work, don't they? Make sure to click the pieces shared here so you can see the artwork in their gallery; Starfire-Productions lists what colors were used and where they were used. And be sure to take a look at the rest of their deviantArt gallery!

Feature 122---Danish-The-Menace

Pizza Thief

Before I go into the story for this image, just look at how many characters are in this! 11 characters. The story in the picture is entirely clear, too. Be sure to go to the dA page since there's a story in the artist description! (With all the character names listed.)
The character in center is swallowing all of the pizza on that table. Is it any wonder that the character on the left is having to be held back? That the character on the right is covering the eyes of that little one on his head?

We're Gonna Need a Bigger Net

This is just fun to get to see. The two people on the left were told that they needed to catch a cat. Whoever would have expected it to be a cat person with a sword?
...These two should probably just throw a few dozen heavy blankets over this cat so they can grab and carry to a very different area. They'd have at least a few seconds before the sword totally went through everything. But everything help them when she actually escapes.

Tire on the Storm

Aah, the very best tradition of climbing inside a large tire and being pushed down a long hill! Most fun thing in the world and you get all of the dizziness for just a few minutes inside! According to Danish's story, it was a dare...as all great things begin as.
That poor character inside the tire!

This was some very fun work to share. If you'd like to see more, Danish-The-Menace's deviantart gallery is right here. It's worth your while!

Feature 116--Confuzzledlion

Snow Princess

Confuzzledlion mentions that they were trying to get used to digital art with this piece. They did brilliantly with the 'snow' here, it looks perfect. But let's just look at the character: I really enjoy how well they drew and painted the pose and clothing. I love how they got the 'weight' of the clothing with this, the sleeve is drooping perfectly, in my opinion!
Let me just mention how thick the hair seems to be. It and that ribbon are both adorable!

Azumi Kihara

I may have said it once but it's still very true: I have all the respect for people who can draw and paint traditionally. Confuzzledlion did a brilliant job with choosing what colors to put on here--black and purple is always a great match in my opinion.
Especially when it comes out as well as this did! Could you believe that this piece was created from a random word challenge? Double the respect for being able to set things up so perfect and cleanly for one of those!

In Bloom | Redraw

A smile despite the tears falling from her eyes. Definitely makes me think that the character is pretty strong. And aren't those blossoms in the background just so adorable? They frame her so very well.
Let me get back into the hair again, doesn't it look so fluffy like it would be so fun to run your hands through it? (Maybe once she's not all teary, of course!)
As the title to this image says, this is a redraw of an older piece. You've gotta see how the first one turned out!

It was so fun to share these works! Love. Them. All. Confuzzledlion has an awesome gallery on deviantart, here's the link. Check everything out!

Feature 106--Cuestionador

The Dream of Cleopatra

Can you imagine how hard it could be to cut some of these pieces just to fit correctly on a collage? Cuestionador mentions that he keeps folders for what pieces might fit and work for a certain piece, but I still wonder how long it took him to cut things so closely without losing the story he was trying to tell. But he does his magic and makes everything come together great. I wonder, too, how he made the paper and glue work so decently together. (If it were my work, it'd all be a lumpy, sticky mess.)
Anyway. This is one brilliant collage and the next two are just as awesome!

The Mermaid

Here's another that shows how well he's able to manage his scissors and how great he is to show his idea. This one makes me wonder how long Cuestionador has to wait for pieces to dry before he can put another one down. Because look at how seamless it is! And I personally love that water he put in the background there and it just looks right for it to be blocked by a black and white texture. ...perhaps it's the song of the mermaid to lead the sailors to their doom?
This piece makes me think of so many ideas. Love it!

The Angel

Using the hints on the image and on the collage's page, this is meant to be Lucifer; the fallen angel. Such a desolate place he's in, look how empty and ruined that background is. And with that blood moon and the magma just dripping off a cliff! Cuestionador set this collage up perfectly, don't you think? The white form of the statue and the face front and center with fire and destruction behind him.
And that's only what I see in this. I'm sure that there are plenty of other things that can be made from this collage!

It's a rare thing to get some traditional collages for these features! Didn't they turn out great? Cuestionador has many more of them in his gallery; don't forget to check out his ink and Pokemon pieces!

Feature 102--ARTificialphanTOM

This is an amazing piece, isn't it! It's drawn with a 4B pencil and colored in iPiccy; didn't he do such a great job in drawing a proper mallard? The detail to draw the beak and make those feathers look so realistic had to have taken a ton of time! But can we just talk about how the water looks? It's drawn perfectly for calm waters and I really enjoy how we can somewhat see the duck's reflection. The picture is a beautiful way to honor the animal. Super work!

Triste

I wish that I could draw faces like this. Just another reason that I'm in awe of his work, I think... This picture is of Jazz Artist, Alba Armengou. Can't say that I know much about her but the respect that ARTificialphanTOM gave this image tells me how much he likes her music. He drew this with a 5B pencil and colored his linework with iPiccy; can you imagine how much time that would have had to  take? Be sure to take a moment to respect how well that hair came out!
Global Warming

Completely drawn on iPiccy, this picture is a call toward what the penguins should need to do if global warming finally brings Antartica to the rocky desert underneath all that snow. It's an interesting thought and could easily be the fate of the penguins and other black and white animals in that location.

If you'd like to see even more of ARTificialphanTOM's work, here is the link to his gallery! I'd definitely say that it's worth the time to go there and enjoy the work he's chosen to share.

Feature 93--ReggieJWorkshop

King of Wakanda

I have got to start by appreciating how very well this character was built and painted. He certainly looks like a king and an excellent humanoid figure! The skintone is amazing and it isn't at all swallowed up by the dark armor, thanks to the very pretty fireball light behind Black Panther. Amazing piece!

Gracie

Again with that gorgeous skintone! Gosh, I've got to take time to learn how to paint a character with darker skin sometime...How could I avoid doing so with such great examples before me? Love how that earring and hair match with her skin and even more so with the oranges of her clothing! It'd be fun to sit with her and just chat about the day, don't you think?

Seventies Night Club

ReggieJWorkshop mentions that this piece was to give a stab at how a youtube artist, Marco Bucci, does his art. (It'll be worth my time to check out Marco Bucci myself!) I think that this group of characters work perfectly for a night club scene; it reminds me of how everything looked when I was watching some late night 70's music shows.
Have some fun to try to remember some of these characters, while you're looking! ReggieJWorkshop mentions that Snoops from Rescuers is in here, along with many other cartoons from the '70. How many can you point out?

I think it's very clear that I had fun featuring these, right? You'll do yourselves such a favor if you go to ReggieJWorkshop's gallery to see even more of his work! He has so many characters and so many scenes to check out; have fun!

Feature 92--EmilyArtPoland

Lovely Bird

I love that bit of color in the background, here! To me, it looks like we're focused on the bird so the leaves of the tree that it's in are a bit blurred together. And doesn't that color set off those yellow feathers? I can't imagine the amount of work doing those feathers needed. This was done in colored pencil, too. So, I have to say it again. There should be so much respect to the traditional artists who do pieces like these!

Caracal

EmilyArtPoland made this cat look so fuzzy, didn't she? I love it! Speaking of loving the fur detail, take a look at those ears. They look so very real! But I have got to send some focus toward the caracal's eyes; aren't they just so gorgeous? I have no idea how long it takes for something so realistic but I really thank her for the time and effort to make and share such lovely pieces!

Colorful Hummingbird

Here are some of the tools that EmilyArtPoland uses for her colors! And oh. my. gosh. don't they look so amazing having put down the colors of this hummingbird? Great eye for the different feathers for different sections, too--the feathers used for flying are drawn and colored so well. And then to echo from the bird's head all the way to its tail? Super work!

If you like the three pieces that were shown here, you've got to see the rest of EmilyArtPoland's gallery! All the pieces there have the same attention to detail as you see on these three; you'll definitely enjoy yourself!
