Feature 217--red-shepherds

1111

A perfect Orc lady! Can you imagine how strong she has to be just to wield that battleaxe? And I've been just staring at her clothing and armor she's wearing. It fits perfect for the scene we're seeing; I can just imagine the reason we're looking up at her too. Some idiot was running their mouth at her and she did a quick job to teach the dude some form of respect...at least for the next life.
Super enjoyable piece!

To Light the Darkness

Ooh, I wonder what this character is searching for? This one is apparently a deathcleric...or is he going to run into one? Both options would be a bit terrifying to happen to me; so at least let him be the cleric! And I can just imagine, too, what kind of ancient place that's having to be searched. May he be safe from whatever creatures are living in that area; I hope he's ready!
This was so fun to get to see. And learning that this is d&d based is even better, just making my mind come up with stories!

Turn Undead 2

This is very interesting. On version 1 of this (same name in his gallery), it's said that he saw a Sailor Moon screencap that helped inspire him to that and this piece. I can definitely see how...what happened in the screenshot to make it all Undead? Gosh may it not be too miserable for this state in the character's life...and may they have control!
Or maybe this is one of Red's characters? I missed that part. However, I really enjoy how this piece was drawn from this perspective. It's amazing!

It's always fun to see red-shepherds art! The link to his gallery is right here, enjoy yourselves!

Also, a note if you've not clicked the link yet: It has gotten to the point where I need a week at the end of the month for myself. I'll make sure to leave a message before these times come.

Feature 183--Tomabird

A Day Off

This is a lovely piece, isn't it? I personally just love how she's just in her living room, not having to pay any attention to that folder of paperwork right beside her. And isn't the detail all around so amazing! I have got to learn how to draw characters as well as Tomabird did here. Look at how gorgeous he painted her skin and especially that outside the window.
Amazing work, it's so fun to come back and just get to enjoy this one over and over!

Descent to Niflheim

Descent to the world of the dead. I wonder what kind of madness has made this poor soldier have to go down into it. I hope she's prepared...with everything the creatures that survive in that realm can do to the living, may it be a short trip!
That background is perfect for this kind of travel, isn't it? It's like we're watching her pass through whatever portal as it's closing; while she's looking back to what was normal for the last time before she's 'eternally' stuck in that ice and dead realm.

In Simpler Times

And for the last piece in this feature, we get to see his lovely scenery in this area. It puts me in mind of how someone would remember a home that they're away from for whatever reason. Just look at how peaceful the whole area is and that water garden is just amazing in this light. I wonder if the area is a desert-like place? It's still very very pretty!
I wonder how long it took to create such a nice piece? Super work!

If you enjoyed this feature; you'll really enjoy visiting Tomabird's gallery. Check it out!

Feature 175--ScottMackayArt

The Mandalorian and the Child

Have to squeal about how "Baby Yoda" (actually named Grogu) looks. Of course he'd be flying along in a small baby basket, fully proper in the Star Wars fantasy. I should really try to see some of this show, Cannot help but wonder how badly Grogu drives this Mandalorian insane.
Love how ScottMackayArt painted this desert-like background, it looks exactly like how I'd imagine a location in the Star Wars universe. Can you believe that this was painted in watercolor? That perfect sky is watercolor. The armor and fabric on Mando too. How hard was it to control the paints to make them stay where they were meant? And how in the world did he manage to make everything so solid looking?
Amazing work!

The Wizard's Library

There is Gandolf's hat! And then the map, isn't it painted great? On top of all that, I am amazed by how perfect that book in the middle of the desk looks. Does the magic all around and in the scrolls happen to play or get used by the playing cards, I wonder? This area really does look like a perfect section to get to sit down and get to work in private...betcha that with the spellbooks and scrolls all around, it'd be so easy to hide the place in plain sight if needed. I wish that I could go through the books on that bookshelf. Wasn't it designed perfectly with all the items that fit in each of the cubbies?
If you click the image and check out his artist comments, there's a whole 'spot them all' game that he actually put in this piece. All of the items are there, too!

Jenners

A full pen and ink piece! And you have got to respect the perspective knowledge and measurements that had to go into this drawing. It's amazing to me. According to Scott, it took a few weeks...I can see why it would take that long. And I really enjoy getting to see the lines on the left and on top that he used to help measure parts out.
He definitely has a a form of control of the ink he used on this. Full and total respect for this piece entirely!

You have to see more of ScottMackayArt's work, right? His gallery is here; go and get lost in all of the work he's put all his time in!

Feature 170--JuliaMersmann

Lamia

This background is so perfect for some of the images of vampires that I've seen. I wonder how long it took her to make this come out so well? And just take a look at how the lightning from the storm has lit up the floor tiles!
Speaking of light, don't those candles look perfect? Especially how the light from them touches so perfectly on the vampire's dress and the baby's wrap. This whole piece is just gorgeous, definitely one of my favorites!

Flora of the Moon

Interesting piece! It's a Draw Everything June and Julia drew the Moonpresence from Bloodborne. Isn't this just the most interesting pose that this creature could have been drawn in? It looks just as distorted as the game makes it look but I just adore how the moon appears to be something of an egg for the creature; just waiting to hatch.
The tentacles look amazing and it would just be wrong to not mention how well the ribs and spine came out. My eyes keep going toward the creature's feet and claws on the toes. The whole piece is super well done!

Drow me Like a French Girl

It's so fun to see people draw their D&D characters. This one is a Drow who is more than happy to lay out on a comfortable surface and appear so lovely. Why not, right? All of the focus he gets on his bare body while he just gets to lay there in the proper poses!
The darkness of the image does perfectly to help censor certain places and it almost looks natural for how the shadows fit. And then the characters blue eyes just seem to glow with all the candles shining into them...he probably has eyes that glow anyway, to be fair, he's a Drow!

What a fun image to get to end on, right? These pieces are amazing and I truly love her painting style with all of these. If you'd like to see more of JuliaMersmann's artwork, her deviantart gallery is right here. Go check it out!

Feature 134--Medusa the Eternal

Pygmy Espeon and Umbreon

Medusa the Eternal says that the idea behind these two Eevees is like someone stopped the evolution just after the colors changed, instead of letting it finish the evolution to Umbreon or Espeon. I love it!
Can you just imagine the color and some of the extra features of an Eevee evolution on a plain Eevee? I find myself wanting the color of a Glaceon and those two pieces of "hair" at its ears on the fuzzy body of an Eevee.
This piece has given me so many ideas. That's the best part of seeing other people's work!

Shion Uzuki

Xenosaga fanart! If y'all know about that story, please let me know? I don't know a thing about the story.
Don't you love the hair on this character though? I could easily see that fitting on plenty of characters. And I love the chosen color for it. Speaking of colors, what do you think about the clothing Shion is wearing? It reminds me of a uniform that characters in Star Trek wear!
Loving that background too. It makes Shion come front and center with no problem! It's all perfect!

Ratitude

I am making an assumption about this being a D&D enemy. The idea was simply a prompt for "Drawtober RPG". But it sure looks like something that I'd imagine for one of those games!
It's a Zombie Plague rat so I love those welts on its back, they appear like something that would burst just because you looked at it. Bleeegh. *shudder XD*
