Feature 192--GrafvonEichenlaub1

Early 100 years war

This is a nice watercolor painting of the early 100 years war, don't you think? I have an awful time with watercolor myself, so full compliments over how well he controlled it!
I wonder, too, if this was meant to show something of the actual war or if this is something created from his own stories and characters. Either way, the weapons were drawn well and I enjoy the helmets that the soldiers on the ground are wearing. Lovely job!

Demon of castle Houska

This one was drawn for Halloween of 2001 and I can make up all kinds of stories for it!
Is the demon haunting the place or somehow controlled by it? Has he been sent as a punishment to those high living folks in the castle or is he being sent out to see that the royal family inside remains in control?
On that, I do enjoy how dark the castle and the area around is. Of course we'd see the demon in the stark of night while he plans his next move. Such a fun work!

Ritter in Maximilian style Armor

This is a well done bit of armor! And just look at that weapon he seems ready to bring down onto his foe! May his enemy go down quickly.
On top of that, don't you see how well the armor was drawn? None of it is too busy to distract from the next piece we look at; amazing since it's the whole suit of armor. It's amazing work, don't you think!

I really did enjoy featuring these pieces! To see more of GrafvonEichenlaub1's work, here is the link to his gallery. Hope you like it too!

AnnBirb's Art Stuff

So...I spoke last time about the bird possibly being finished but it absolutely couldn't be done without proper shadows, could it? Even I couldn't talk myself out of it. XD But now that it's properly finished, I feel so pleased, so relieved.

This will be put on the Art page the day this posts. But be certain that I'm going to have some fun with Minecraft and Sims 4. Will try to share everything when it's done! 💖

Also, before I leave, I want to share these links again. I used a new watercolor brush for this piece; SimzArt shows how to create the brush on Clip Studio Paint. (I'm more than sure that it can be mimicked with other programs!)
Here are the three videos he put out to show how to make it.

AnnBirb's Art Stuff

Finally! Finally had the brain to paint the pen and pen holder! The colors may be mixing a bit with the tablet but...can't wait to have the mind to paint the shadows. (As I should have when I painted AnnBirb. XD) It'll happen when my head's less mixed up.

It's been pretty fun to play with the watercolor brush that was created for this. I can definitely see me using it again! In case you missed it a couple weeks ago, SimzArt has three videos that shows how to create this brush on clip studio:

1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqrdhCl6qZI
2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3waCiX5aFk
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uad5zCoTrBQ

In theory, it shouldn't be too hard to mimic this brush for other programs if you're interested. And who knows; if you know more about watercolor painting than I do, maybe you can make it behave even more like how a watercolor brush does? Whatever you do, have plenty of fun with it all!

AnnBirb's paint stuff

I have so fallen in love with this watercolor brush! Look at what it's managed to do so far!...also, I was unaware that AnnBirb has purple on those feathers. The color's so pretty together!

SimzArt has a few videos that can show how to create a watercolor texture brush in Clip Studio. Maybe the other programs can make a similar brush if you like to use "watercolor" digitally?

Feature 164--Estheryu

Day of the Deviant

My jaw just dropped when I saw this piece. It's gorgeous!
There was a contest going when Estheryu created this; I so hope that she won something from it! Just look at that halo of stars around her head, along with those beautiful clouds behaving like sheets and blankets just over her form. Or perhaps it's to show that it is more hidden in the heights of her mind? Look how she's reaching up toward those planets, too.
Love it!

Doodle: Sunflower Skull

These skulls look very interesting set against the sunflower here. Maybe a comparison of life and death? Or perhaps it's just what just happened to come together as she worked on this?
It's also very interesting how the gal has those blue gems...maybe she's Life and is bringing the sunflower out to show that even death may not be the full end?
This is an amazing piece and it was so fun to see!

Fight Fish

This piece is amazing! How many fish can you count in it? And doesn't all of the lines here seem to act like fish themselves; floating free in the air?
Estheryu definitely seems to know how to paint the fish perfectly in this watercolor. I wonder how long it took her to add the color to this? She mentioned that the linework was a sketch that was done in 2016, too.
Was excellent to get to see this!

It was a real treat to get to see these pieces! To see more of Estheryu's amazing work, here is her deviantart! Drop by and spend some time here; it'll be well worth it!

Feature 100--MidnightDJ-SK

Archimede the Broad

Yes yes, let's avoid the obvious joke here. =p I'd like to turn focus to the paint used--can you believe the watercolors on this? I've rarely come across skin colors that look so realistic with that medium. And I absolutely adore the way that she comes out from the background, like she and the background are two separate parts. (Which they are.)
I love the way that the background was painted, too. It doesn't seem like it's night time, so maybe it's a kind of magic behind her that is sparkling in such a way? Very lovely!

Flower Guardians: Strelitzia and Raphus

Strelitzia, on the right, is bringing some plants for healing to a location and Raphus, on the left, brings food to another location in the elven countries that these two characters live in. Aren't they both beautiful! I think I personally enjoy Raphus' dress, it seems like it is one of those gorgeous fabrics that are infinitely comfortable. Same for those shoes!
All respect to Strelitzia, of course. Someone ought to find her a place to sit down because of those high heels. With any luck, she doesn't have to keep them on for too long while she heals and sells those plants...at least she has the lotions to ease the pain?

DC Tribute--Powergirl

I love how the cape and sky colors play off each other here. And just look at that sky with the effort taken to make these clouds look so good! I'm in agreement with TheHaxMan on the piece's original page--the gradient of the sky is amazing, going from the purple near the clouds on up to the blue and white behind Powergirl's back.
Let's look at her pose though. I wonder how long it took MidnightDJ-SK to draw it so well? It looks very much like something we would have seen in a comic with SuperGirl, I imagine. It's super well done and many congrats to him with how the muscles look like they're in the right place!

How excited I was to get to this artist! MidnightDJ-SK is amazing, all three of the pieces in this feature is watercolor with varying amounts of mixed media. You'd like to see what else he can create, right? Here is the link to his gallery, enjoy yourself while you check it out!

Feature 82--RavenCorona

Game Over

Oh noooo, poor Link! We all know that it would have to end this way at some point...We can thank ol Argorok right there for doing away with that horrific stomach that would have eaten up the whole world, eventually.
If you'd like something more impressive about this piece, this is done in Acrylic! Didn't RavenCorona get things just right with that medium? And just look at this angle! It's an excellent piece.

Scarlet Devil Dragons

In this piece, he drew some Touhou characters as dragons! Do you recognize either of them?
Honestly, I'm just super impressed with how RavenCorona draws his dragons. And these were drawn and colored with color pencils and a bit of ink.
I'm very hooked with the background that he put on this too. It seems to just fit with the styles of dragons that were done here...though I'd be lying if I didn't personally love the top dragon. I can't decide if it's the skulls around it or if it's the hint of "poison". (It's how I read the skulls, anywho.)

Swamp Dragon

I personally love this dragon, look at the fins at its feet. That would make it super easy to get around in that water in a swamp. But I think the wings just hooked me. Just that the wings are so thin to be slightly transparent just ticks all the right boxes for me.
And this was painted in watercolor, too! Didn't RavenCorona just do an amazing job with it? So much respect for how he built the image with the paints!

If you enjoyed these three images as much as I did, you're really going to love going through RavenCorona's gallery! He does more than just dragons so you've got to take a look at how well he controlled the mediums for those.
