Do y'all remember Windows XP?

*log on noises*

Soooo...I've been a tad addicted to my Sims the past few weeks and tried to directly paint from the thumbnail I showed not that long ago. And since I've been so distracted by that video game for now, I forgot to do over half of the building process of a piece.

I hope y'all follow the dirt and gravel roads in your minds and enjoy this "trip" to what was a simpler PC time. XD

I'm sure that there'll be something more matching to what was actually my planning next week or so!

AnnBirb's Art Stuff

Finally! Finally had the brain to paint the pen and pen holder! The colors may be mixing a bit with the tablet but...can't wait to have the mind to paint the shadows. (As I should have when I painted AnnBirb. XD) It'll happen when my head's less mixed up.

It's been pretty fun to play with the watercolor brush that was created for this. I can definitely see me using it again! In case you missed it a couple weeks ago, SimzArt has three videos that shows how to create this brush on clip studio:

1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqrdhCl6qZI
2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3waCiX5aFk
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uad5zCoTrBQ

In theory, it shouldn't be too hard to mimic this brush for other programs if you're interested. And who knows; if you know more about watercolor painting than I do, maybe you can make it behave even more like how a watercolor brush does? Whatever you do, have plenty of fun with it all!

AnnBirb's paint stuff

I have so fallen in love with this watercolor brush! Look at what it's managed to do so far!...also, I was unaware that AnnBirb has purple on those feathers. The color's so pretty together!

SimzArt has a few videos that can show how to create a watercolor texture brush in Clip Studio. Maybe the other programs can make a similar brush if you like to use "watercolor" digitally?

Norux Red Mage sketch

Ahaha, yes! His hair! It finally worked! I forgot to add on here that not only did I look at BrutalMoose's hair to create this, but Norux himself has a turnaround that I semi-used this time? But oh my gosh it felt so nice to actually get done with this bit!

From here out, I'm going to touch on how the Red Mage in FFXIV looks to see what would fit and how/if certain bits will work. The character seems perfect for him so I look forward to playing.

There's another thing that must be shared too. This one isn't at all my own, it's EmKay's video and Damien as the host. Definitely go back and watch this whole video but here, listen to Damien just melt down into the Gigglefit That Heals All and allow this to reach your heart and help your day!

Sketching Norux!

Had the idea to put my volcano elemental (Norux) in a Red Mage's costume from FFXIV. Haven't gotten his hair or hat on him yet, but this is great at the second!

Nose seems to be a little wonky to me but who cares? XD Norux's going to make a great Red Mage for this sketch and I can't wait to get a full body sketch drawn and painted, once I figure out how to draw up that hat.
Most important at the second seems to be to put his hair on him so the hat will look right. I've been watching Kirsty Partridge Art's "How to Draw Hair for Beginners" video because I like how she makes it all come out. This seems to make a bit more sense than how I currently do hair...wonder if it's possible to make it work without the drawing staring straight forward?

In theory, of COURSE one should be able. But it is all me right now, too. (All for fun in this case!)

Another video by my tutor!

Doesn't all of this look so cool? And this shows how he built it the model and everything about it! You've got to go to the YouTube page and see the music that he chose for this video. While you're there, leave a comment if you liked the work done!
Keep your eyes out, too. I'll be sharing what videos he decides to put up, with his permissions, so you have to go by his YouTube channel when one comes up!

It's always so fun to see what he does with these sculptures, in my opinion. Since I'm just now starting on things, it's amazing to see what he can do.

Zbrush troubleshooting (video 2)

Part 2 of Art-of-Akrosh's Zbrush tutorial! This one takes care to explain some of the beginner problems in this program. I'm currently enjoying learning with these videos so I hope that you can find some use with them!

By the by. You'll have a much easier time seeing what he is selecting if you go to his Youtube page. Don't stick around on this tiny window!

My tutor has started a series teaching Zbrush!

If you were ever interested in using the program Zbrush to learn how to sculpt with it, this is going to be the series for you! I've shared Art-of-Akrosh's first video (on this) here. All you have to do is subscribe to him so you can keep getting his tutorials on it!

This first bit is very well explained and he is super clear in his explanations while he's showing you what tool he uses and how to get to it? There's going to be a whole series on this, so have fun with the program. ^^

First Video! Featuring Norux

It's a recording of the lineart that I posted about last Thursday! I think it's going to be great fun to continue doing this here and again for my personal projects. And this one isn't over! I have to paint Norux in his new clothes. That is going to be so much fun, considering how interesting it was for this one recording.

With any luck, I'll eventually succeed in making this site have a videos page if I don't just work up a 'search through labels'. (And let's be honest. I'm lazy about looking through my own. Why wouldn't someone else be? XD)

Anyway! I hope y'all enjoy!

Monday; June 1:
I've been told that 10 minutes is a little long for these. At this point, I'm unsure how to do anything with it so...do me a favor and just give me a 'view'? XD Thanks!

How they're made: Donuts

No superheated oils necessary for this tasty treat! Just a great video series, a program to play with, and the madness to watch and rewatch the same section in that series a million times over.

I've only been playing with this program for a few days and it's already proven to be pretty dang powerful for just a little program...which is amazing, since my computer has a habit of refusing to behave if it thinks you look at it sideways.

Let's ignore that I can't png without a screenshot yet. ^^;
So! The donut is no longer 'two-weekends-to-eat' large. But as Blender Guru mentions in the video, donuts are not so perfect as to merely be robotic. They have their own standards of beauty, standards that a computer just cannot compare:

Everyone, please stand for the Miss Donut of 2020
Doesn't she just look magnificent? She is no longer locked to the computer's standard of grandiose, she has reached the real and true shape of the Greatest Donut to Ever Exist. All without the dangerous fryers in the kitchen or the need to get tons of flour and dough stuck to the cook!

If the videos from Blender Guru continue to be as short as this one was, I can really see my computer letting me get through to the end of the series! ...after all, it only crashed when I was done with everything this time. There may be some forcing this poor old thing to do what I like from it!

Does anyone else watch carsandwater on youtube?

He heats a nickel ball until it's red hot and puts it against items to watch what it does. ...I find the process amusing. XD Here's a current video from his page!
