Do y'all remember Windows XP?

*log on noises*

Soooo...I've been a tad addicted to my Sims the past few weeks and tried to directly paint from the thumbnail I showed not that long ago. And since I've been so distracted by that video game for now, I forgot to do over half of the building process of a piece.

I hope y'all follow the dirt and gravel roads in your minds and enjoy this "trip" to what was a simpler PC time. XD

I'm sure that there'll be something more matching to what was actually my planning next week or so!

Sims has been distracting me...

...more directly, I've been making my sims eat the Bizzare Fruit in Sims 4 Strangerville. Take my constant experiment, Vae.

He honestly seems so happy being in control of the Mother Plant, I'm almost sorry to have to defeat her later. XD Just take a *look* at the grin and tell me he's not some form of happy, or at least pleased, with his current situation!
To say it mildly, I've been enjoying things.

Waver is finished!

I just posted the finished image to the art page!

Could just see her being ready to poke anyone with that nail she's holding, she "rightfully" claimed the coin she's standing on! It wasn't her fault someone had set their money right there.
Alas, she is never going to be able to keep it, coin's too heavy for her. XD

The person who commissioned this was great to work with, he knew exactly what he wanted and yet he was able to give me enough freedom to be silly. Figuring out how to do everything for the picture was a lot of fun, as well.
He also understood about how long it took me to finally turn this around. Counting my lucky stars for that!

"There are no mistakes. Only happy accidents."

Or at least these "happy accidents" are just funny. This is the answer to a very pressing, unanswered (unasked) question..."What does Tre look like if he wore Mario's metal cap?"

I've been messing around and attempting to work with the grayscale to make it darker and hit the wrong button, or something like that. To be honest, I'm not really sure what I did.
Praise the art gods for layers and for backups! XD

Edit: This is what I was actually trying to do before metalling him. Forgive the lack of background, I've not decided Paper vs Transparent. (But the fact that he stands out against the dark color of the site? Definitely a success in some form!)

VBS is finished!

Oh my gosh I am so exhausted. And I didn't even do the majority of stuff--I was mostly in the class so the gals could have a woman in there. XD But those kids were oh so excited all week. So great that they enjoyed themselves and the little performance they did today was fun to watch.

...I'm exhausted, I've found a way to make myself achy, but I would NEVER say that it wasn't worth it. If you get the shot to help a church in VBS and like kids, do it. It'll be worth your time and energy.

First day of Vacation Bible School!

Right. Helping out in VBS this year is going to be a lot easier than it was last year. They put me in a class with another person--he's the main teacher and I'm the assistant this time. Tell you what, not having to stand up all day is going to make this week so very much easier than when I was helping in crafts.

The class I'm helping with is of 5th and 6th graders...we have 3 boys and 3 girls, who promptly went about sorting themselves into two groups. It was fun to watch everyone, even if the 'group' part of things went a little mad while they were deciding group names and personal nicknames. (Thankfully, us teachers are allowed to call them by the name we remember--which will be on a nametag that they're wearing! XD)

And oh my stars, we had so many folks today that we shoulda had more tables and chairs in the fellowship hall where we were eating supper. That is excellent! With any luck, it'll happen again. We did send them out with a 'task' of sorts: to bring friends who wanted to join VBS. Nothing that we're going to count against anyone if they don't, of course, but it seemed to make them even more excited. Which is great. It's meant to be enjoyed and fun.

Can't wait to see how it goes the rest of the week!
