Love and LOVE how Xander's hair came out! It'll be quite fun to paint it when it finally is fully designed, but first he needs the same clothes as he was wearing in the Jadewind Festival. It's going to work great!

And now the completed piece! Golden Hour sky and some of the golden light on the horizon near where the sun is. The shadows work perfectly in what was plain grass and roads!
I'm so happy to be finished with this. Now I can get to drawing Alexander's character sheet for the next time I'm ready to put him to show. (It's been so long since I've drawn him individually!) Will certainly share when I have something ready for it.
I'm probably going to bring a bit more daylight blue into this. XD It's so nighttime even if the sun is intended to be rising...We shall see what I finally decide on.
That said, I'm really having fun using Krita! Just have to learn how to control the textures a bit more.
The sky reference was from a photo that my friend took (artist: KBdraws92)

Slowly learning Krita! A friend helped me defeat the "evil" of HDR. (It probably is nice for people who actually need it but it was just frustrating me.) XD So far, if I haven't said so, I've been enjoying this program. It doesn't take all that much time to look up and find things about it if I need to learn whatever, at the moment!
Right now, I'm VERY pleased with the grass here. I just put a flat brush of green down and then drew over that with a color pencil. I wonder if I can get other textures with other pencil brushes? Very fun at the moment! And I can't wait til I get to painting the sky with this program!
Whee. It's time to paint this, things are working great right now! The fire and magma behind him is going to be so fun to paint and that fireball he's shooting forward is going to be amazing I hope!
...the idea works in my mind so we'll see soon if it works in paint. XD
Here is what I have at the second, those feet are bothering me now. (Think what they'll do when I get to fix his costume!) Can't wait to get this whole bit to work out.
And PureRef this time instead of just looking at a second or third window. So far, PureRef's been doing quite well for me so here's a link if anyone's interested: https://www.pureref.com/ Basically it can keep all of your references in one space instead of a dozen extra tabs, quite useful!

I posted this last week and I'm still so very thrilled about it! Looking at only the grayscale here, I'm not using enough darker shades...But that's not so much a secret since I think we all know that. XD And I didn't exactly get the S-shape of the river. Both of those will have to be noticed next time I do another one of these.
...and since it was so fun, I'll probably do more! Look for them here on the Thursday posts and the Sketches section of the art page. <3
A WIP of a commission I've been working on recently. The commissioner wishes for several Wild Pansy flowers to be painted here and I added the mountain in back. When it's time to play with things, I'll attempt to mimic some clouds like what Studio Ghibli designs--they're always amazing!
Will keep showing things as I line and paint this. It's been so fun so far!

Have been cleaning up lines for an age, haven't I? But here it is so far, just need to rebuild the characters, the seats, throw some paintings on the walls. And it's still been so much fun!
Also, my tutor's noticed how dA is going so happy wild about the Stable Diffusion AI stuff. I've not been secret about how little I care for it myself, but Art-of-Akrosh is going to do a video about it all soon. And it's no secret about how poorly Stable Diffusion is doing, even dragging images off people's health records and other bits that are supposed to be private.
Here is his youtube short about the issue: Art-of-Akrosh youtube short
He'll be making a longer video about it later. I'll be sure to share the video here and my videos page when it comes up!
--Note, Wed 14--
Artstation apparently put out a statement to 'deal with AI yourself'. Art of Akrosh made another short about that:
Artstation Issues a statement on AI Art
So lazy, Artstation. I didn't know you were going to be so pitiful as dA.
Soo...I had the thought that the drawing was near finished. So many ideas were given to me about what else could be added to this.
I have a character to add to the scene who's laughing at the birdcat and the other character's objection; but I'm thrilled with how the chairs work at least. Still have to fight with that window...blast the need for perspective, just blast it all. XD But it's definitely making the whole thing very fun! Will be sure to keep updating.

I guess we're all happy that Vae finally dressed himself. Ain't nobody who wanted to see that. But now, all I have to do for the sketch/lineart phase is to add the little dodahs on the map and put those weapons on the two racks that are sitting right there.
It's coming together and I love how it's working out so far. Just hope that I don't get lazy at this point and stop working...
This was fun to play with so far...now there's only to be one cat, a thing or two knocked to the floor, and a soldier coming around the table to pick up where the cat has wiped out some plastic markers off the map.

Ann Birb is coming out slowly! Personally love how those wings worked out...and now I have to figure out how to make the rest of her feathers behave. XD
Can't wait to see how it's working without the sketches behind it. Soon...so soon.
This has been such a fun project, no matter how long I've been working on it. (Since sometime in May? XD)
Yeah, a decent wip finally happened, right? The chest part is going to look great when I add the feathers and I was quite happy with how the legs look. Then...my friend stepped in. To be utterly fair, I really did ask him for help in making a bird's feet work out. So I suppose this should not have been utterly surprising.
But alas. He was fully entertained by how buff she looks in the WIP:
I did scratch out a term here but I'm sure you know what I scratched out. XD But then! THEN! On Discord, I'm in an art chat who had to add their thoughts into things:
A flex reaction? XD FLEX? ...to be fair, AnnBirb looks exactly like she's been spending some time at the gym.
Had to share this fun little bit with you (as well as sharing my current WIP). Thanks for dropping by and have a lovely day!

Isn't this image just so interesting to look at! As Cuestionador says on the page, this is a collage and I personally LOVE it. To me, it seems to have a fiery cave on the left with the creature staring right into it. What I see on the right is that the static in the brain, hidden by the form of the person.
Did the person on the right maybe have to face that creature on the left? Are they maybe just keeping it secret that they themselves ARE the creature? If it ever became known, that's no doubt when the bomb would go off in some form or another...
Excellent work!

This one is just waiting for the gates to open, as if she hadn't had plenty of men and women serving her. And of course all of them believe she was serving them. Behind the gate seems to remind me of a graveyard. Fits that red shape the succubus is leaning on perfectly. Maybe she's ready for those people who like to walk around one of those places?
Really enjoy this piece, great work!

| Sketch 007: The Ghost |
This ghost reminds me of one of those who track the people they're after. Maybe chasing them through the woods or a large mansion?
Loving how Cuestionador drew this creature. I wonder if this one sings their target to sleep or if it gets more out of them if it just scares the hell out of them? And how did this one die? It appears that she's long lost her chin and cheek were ripped off...
Love it, this is amazing work!
Was such a treat to get to see more of Cuestionador's work! If you'd like to see more work like what was shared, go to Cuestionador's gallery. It's more than worth your time!
I have some more light and shadow to add to this fellow's hat (not to mention his shoulders, neck fluff, and those feathers) but isn't he coming out so much better at the moment! I do wonder if the sunlight on the hat is too light but I plan to ask my tutor soon.
Otherwise, I am in love with how he's looking!~
By the way...what is it about Norux and Vae being some of my most difficult models to play with but it ends up so satisfactory to get them finished? I guess most of y'all other artists have that feeling about certain characters or stories that you're bringing together.
May they all always bring joy to us all!
Tutor thinks that I've mimicked my light source reference too closely on Norux's face. Probably have, I only used an ArtStation thing without knowing more about how things should work? So that will definitely have more work done on it; hopefully before I post him again.
But I have fallen in love with how Norux's ear is coming out of the hair. @@ Pure accident but I want more of that kind of 'mistake'. Also like how his hair has worked out for the moment. Shows the white/gray perfect at the second!
Color needs a bit more blended but I do like how the purple worked out for this! Makes me think that the hair and shadow/light for his clothes is going to be perfect.
I'll probably make another version of this where his colors are less violet, we'll see. (Still sorta struggling with the idea but...it can't hurt to do two versions of all of this. It'll only give me more practice and all! But, like I just said, we'll see.)
