Feature 202--HyliaBeilschmidt

Naval Supremacy

Ooo, I wonder where he's standing? Clearly on a battle ship (I assume) but just look how well the other ship was designed and how much smoke is coming from it! Certainly a win from what may well have been a long battle.
And I have got to squeal about how well the metal floor is reflecting all of these walls and windowpanes! All of the image is great, amazing work!

Summer of 1914

I hope this character is getting a bit of rest in this lovely background...but he seems to be in a war of 1914, in HyliaBeilschmidt's fiction that they wrote. It totally works together, the peaceful and calm land the character is currently on while the stress and battle is clearly going on in the character's mind.
It's so amazing to see the contrast. And just look at the trees, stones, and grasses drawn here. How tiny the brush/pencil was is amazing in my view! Gorgeous work!

The Order of Othala

Just look at this black and white image! It's amazing, always is great to see when an artist can command the drawing and pen so well! And doesn't this just work for a paranoid group of people with too much power to their name? The woman in center, Julia, set this bodyguard group up once she was attacked, too. I keep wondering which side she's on in this fight she's in.
It's so fun to see the work created from the stories created for the characters, it's amazing!

These pieces were so fun to see! HyliaBeilschmidt's gallery is here so you can check everything out too!

Feature 180--CursedAtlas

King Kong

That is such a fun sky color for the fighting going on. Could you imagine being grabbed by a ginormous ape like this?
The planes were drawn super well and I can't help but enjoy their colors. Makes them super easy to see even if the giant ape isn't swatting or crushing one. Very enjoyable!

The Magician's Nephew

I wonder how high the pegasus has carried the kids? The texture of the grass makes me think that it's gone very high, blurring the trees and the grass below them.
Speaking of the grass, take a look at the mountains! They do a lovely job at setting off the horse's white coat. And it's so obvious that the hooves are made of some type of metal-like stuff, look at how the light is shining off that one!
Lovely job here. ^^

America Sings

Aha, these fellows!  I can't tell if their furball friend is a dog or a cat but I enjoy how furry the animal looks. There's hint of them having been at Splash Mountain in the comments on the piece, too. If it was an actual show, I bet that it was a very nice one.
I'm having a lot of fun imagining all of these sitting on hay bales or just in the dry grass while they're singing and playing after many hours of working on a farm. Perfect way to end a busy day!

These pieces were so fun to see! If you're interested in seeing more of CursedAtlas' work, here is his gallery.

Feature 179--HammerWriter

Reyn Offers You a Gift

First off, I love the colors in this piece. The blue and teal in the background help set off the dark purple Reyn is and I love his hair. His eyes were super well done as well!
I wonder what's in the gift he's giving us? It's been wrapped up very cutely and I can't help but adore the bow that HammerWriter managed to put on it. This is all so well done!

Heart's City

I wonder who lives in the town so high? It almost appears that flight would be required to get up there...but maybe there's a way up hidden in the stone? The houses at the bottom edge of the rock are beautiful too. To just get a chance to live nearby such a place!
That sky is just gorgeous; I'm in love with it! And what do you think about the forest right on the edge of the road we're looking down? It is so lush! Beautiful work.

Izzy and Sisu's Halloween Confusion

Aah, to be on the way to a halloween party and meet up with someone dressed up like you. How embarrassing! I bet the two had a lovely time after the surprise.
Sisu is the dragon here and it really does look like Izzy had the right idea for her costume. She looks so cute as a mini dragon! Can't forget how pretty Sisu looks, pretending to be a pony too. It works perfect in my eyes. Lovely piece!

Amazing works, right? Here is the link to HammerWriter's gallery; you'll love what else you can see!

Feature 178--Crossdigi

Spiderman vs Green Goblin

This is going to be a common theme of my comments but I don't know much about the Marvel comics, or even if these two ever met each other. But isn't it the best position for them both to be in? Falling as if they've leapt from the edge of the high rise building in front of us, dealing with all of their fight in as they come closer and closer to the ground beneath!
Let's hope Spiderman has some way to get out of that rope in time...

Cosmic Ghost Rider

I've heard of the Fantastic Four, so to get to see a piece of art that shows them? That's very exciting! And be sure to take notice of everyone in the background.
Ghost Rider isn't something that I know about, however, so let's just go to how great his clothing and pose is! His armor on the chest is just amazing, I wonder how long it took to paint it and to make it all come together? The shining bands around his wrists are amazing too. I wonder if that helps keep his inventory in reach or if it helps control himself? ...it's also quite possible that they are just to seem cool. That's always a perfect reason to have them. Amazing piece!

Dr Doom: King of the Universe

This is such a lovely setup! First off; of course I like villains way too much so his pose looks excellent for destroying something, but can we just admire how the starry background helps to bring him forward into our sight? The colors everything is painted just gives that extra oomph and it's great!
Speaking of the pose, it's done super well. It can be so hard to position a pose doll in whatever program, so super respect to get everything to work like it has! And of course, amazing respect for how well Crossdigi painted this. Because I think most of us know that most pose dolls don't have their own armor and whatnot. Excellent work!

These were some very interesting pieces! The link to see more of Crossdigi's work is right here; so drop by and check things out!

Feature 123--Ewen Feuillatre

Mortelle Est La Nuit

This is the piece that drew me to Ewen's gallery to begin with. Isn't it just amazing the way that he used the blue and white to help show the limit to the figure's black body? I also love how he got the closed eye colors to work out.
It does seem like the figure is definitely wearing makeup or something, doesn't it? I wonder how much work it took to get all of this to adjust right? I know I've said it twice but this piece really does amaze me.

Homme Bleu

In this piece, Ewen mentions it's a photomanipulation. I'm glad he did, because I'm not sure that I would have noticed. Look at those marks on the figure's face, don't they look just like brushstrokes? And take a look at the background; specifically the upper left. That seems like a leaf design to me, not to mention that part just below it.
I just keep having more and more to look at the longer I take looking at this one. Amazing work!

Oizys

This one is interesting, I can only get glimpses of the image's story by reading the tags on dA!
What I can understand is that she's a Greek goddess and that, for some reason, she's sad. The image does look like she's cracking apart, doesn't it? I wonder if these brush strokes on her face are meant to be fire...or maybe that she's encased in ice with reflections showing what she is seeing?
Love this work!

These have been some pretty great paintings, haven't they? Be sure to check out Ewen Feuillatre's dA gallery to see even more of what he creates, especially with color!

No feature today, I'm sorry!

I apologize for not having a feature set up today!
Had my MS act up yesterday (at least I'm accusing it of being the MS) and I've been far too tired to make sense for my Monday Features.

Next Monday's feature is going to be some work from Danish-The-Menace, so look forward to those sketches!

Also, wish me luck. Tuesday is when I talk to my neurologist about the new MS shot!

Feature 114--InvisibleSniper

0011_0003

I'm not all that certain as to what kind of art this is and it's entirely my own fault. But isn't it just so pretty! I personally enjoy how the blue in the center seems to have gone out through the red to create the purple we see outside the flower. Personally, I find myself enjoying that violet on the dull red more than the brightest colors...but I love how the duller colors help give a place for your eyes to rest after taking in that flower!
(My apology if the images don't link to the dA version. Wix has replaced the normal link...You should be able to use the artwork name as the link if the usual ones fail.)

0011_002

This is clearly a portal to another realm. And I really hope that you're ready for whatever's on the other side; there must be a reason that it's so dark!
It's so fun to look at this one. Reminds me of a super old screensaver that I used to play with! Those old PCs were terrible for much else than the screensavers, really, but they seemed like they were so great for what they could and would do at the time!

0010_001

This reminds me of a scene in a video game. A tall cliff on the left, overlooking the sand below it at nearly dusk. Just before the sun has entirely set, perhaps.
Or maybe it's inside the game, seeing the back version of what we would have seen on the screen? It's fun to imagine everything!

These pieces have been very interesting, I really enjoy looking at and imagining all the scenes I can from them. If you are interested in seeing some of his other work, his deviantart account is right here! Be sure to give him some nice comments--it really does seem that he's not gotten many.
