Vae's War Room, complete!

I had so so much fun on this image and seeing it finished, is just amazing to me. Five months went into this piece, off and on. ...That seems like a challenge to me, now. Can I do things as quickly later? We'll have to see!

Also, my friends have finally talked me into starting some study pieces--just sketches, mostly, just trying to copy a reference. In an hour or less. (I was just talking about 5 months...how am I going to do anything good in an hour? XD) I think it's really going to be fun once I finally get into the idea of it! Will probably throw them into the Sketches section of my art page?
Just as some kind of proof, I guess. Please wish me luck!

Vae's War Room wip

The base of the wall is now gray, which will appear to be stone like the rest of the wall when I finally get to finishing it. Got a tip about my shadows and brought them to be darker and it worked out great.

Oh gosh, I have to get back to shading the rocks on the far wall. It's going to take forever and will work so lovely when I finally do it. But that's part of the fun of drawing and painting: finding everything that can be worked on instead of what absolutely needs to be done to put it off as long as possible.

Vae's War Room wip

Now all that's left is the shadows, whenever I escape Sims again to do it. XD Thrilled with how the details have worked out, especially that stone wall! (...had so much trouble til I remembered that Clip Studio has brushes for this kinda thing...)

It was quite fun, too, to figure out how the floor should work out around that tree stump as if Vae had built around it. Now I wonder what his story was behind keeping it! It'll be fun when it's figured out.

Vae's War Room wip

So proud of how that screen worked out but I wonder if the letters are too straight forward? So happy with how the rest of it looks now! <3 Just have that floor and those walls to work with before they can be shaded.

It's taken almost an age to draw this up but I've been having so much fun. <3 Next time y'all see it, the walls should have the right texture!

Well oops. Meant to post this on Thursday. Y'all can take this for a 'Thursday' post if I don't spam with more sims, right? XD

Vae's War Room--Flat colors!

I have a hard time being unhappy with these flats! As of now, I've been toying with adding the shadows but there's one space my tutor wants to work on...Something about there still being room to put something? BUT I'm thrilled with the whole thing so far.

Hope y'all are going to have a pleasant time next week!

War room update and about AI "art"

Have been cleaning up lines for an age, haven't I? But here it is so far, just need to rebuild the characters, the seats, throw some paintings on the walls. And it's still been so much fun!
Do some sort of decals on those bits of fabric at the door...Best thing though is that I have been using this magical thing called layers so far. It's amazing how everything can be edited at this point without just putting things directly on top of each other...

Also, my tutor's noticed how dA is going so happy wild about the Stable Diffusion AI stuff. I've not been secret about how little I care for it myself, but Art-of-Akrosh is going to do a video about it all soon. And it's no secret about how poorly Stable Diffusion is doing, even dragging images off people's health records and other bits that are supposed to be private.

Here is his youtube short about the issue: Art-of-Akrosh youtube short

He'll be making a longer video about it later. I'll be sure to share the video here and my videos page when it comes up!

--Note, Wed 14--
Artstation apparently put out a statement to 'deal with AI yourself'. Art of Akrosh made another short about that:

Artstation Issues a statement on AI Art

So lazy, Artstation. I didn't know you were going to be so pitiful as dA.

Vae's War Room update

Soo...I had the thought that the drawing was near finished. So many ideas were given to me about what else could be added to this.

I have a character to add to the scene who's laughing at the birdcat and the other character's objection; but I'm thrilled with how the chairs work at least. Still have to fight with that window...blast the need for perspective, just blast it all. XD But it's definitely making the whole thing very fun! Will be sure to keep updating.

Vae's war room

I guess we're all happy that Vae finally dressed himself. Ain't nobody who wanted to see that. But now, all I have to do for the sketch/lineart phase is to add the little dodahs on the map and put those weapons on the two racks that are sitting right there.

It's coming together and I love how it's working out so far. Just hope that I don't get lazy at this point and stop working...

More on the "war room"!

This was fun to play with so far...now there's only to be one cat, a thing or two knocked to the floor, and a soldier coming around the table to pick up where the cat has wiped out some plastic markers off the map.

Have a bit more work before I can paint. >>;; Blah on that! But I'm still having so much fun working on this still, so may it keep working out. XD

New idea lineart!

So many ideas. There will be a birdcat on the table (a different one than Ael, like I probably said previously)...and it is going to so be worth using SketchUp more often! This is going to be so so great to finish and paint. =o And it's going to be even more fun to learn more about SketchUp!

Oh I needed that time...And Ael is finished!

Between doctor visits and life issues that family was having, it was good to have the break I took...though quite longer than I intended! Expect a feature on the 31st and everything should go right back onto schedule as it was! ^^

I'm sure most folks saw when I posted Ael on the Art page, but here he is again fully complete:

Of course the cat would be right there on the counter and turned off stove, right? XD Had some very helpful suggestions from my Tutor what I could have done to just help things the whole way around too, it's always great to hear from him when things are finished! <3

And if I were smarter than I am today, I would have gotten properly started on my homework lessons. Will be going back to working with drawing the cubes and adding cylinders and cones to them, can't wait to have something to show!

Ael on the counter! (Flats)

This has been a ton of fun at this point. Get to throw the light and shadows soon, it'll be so much fun to play with. Probably frustrating too, but isn't that what drives the creative process along with just enjoying everything?

Gosh I'm so excited about this piece, can't wait to finally put it in Finished on the art page. And I can't wait for it to release me too. I haven't even been able to play my video games while working on this. XD ...best issue to have though. <3

Also, many many thanks for going along with me on all of this learning art and sharing. 💖

Ael on the counter!

Lineart! I can't *wait* until I can turn FireAlpaca's painting tools to this, since they did super well on Ael originally! Just got finished with those counters that Ael's sitting on and that fridge came out so much better than I expected!

Did close the ael color because why not. XD It'll at least fit in Lineart now. Gosh I can't wait to paint!

Oooh Ael...

As soon as I titled Ael as "finished" the other week, who here knew in their deepest of hearts that I was lying? To you guys, to myself...the whole way around, I think. My brain enjoys these, I think. XD
So ideas started building as soon as he was posted and this is what I have at the moment:

Of course he'd be on a counter. It's just natural. Especially with such a self important look. At least he's not on top of the fridge!

FireAlpaca test: Finished Ael

Fire Phoenix Birdcat, Ael

This was so fun to throw together and grabbing the brush to put the detail on his fur was super easy. So from here out, I can definitely see me painting more with FireAlpaca along with as the Clip Studio version that I bought awhile back!

Have been intending to play with FireAlpaca and try to learn some things with it...Have to say I enjoy how loose the pen is and it's easy to shift from pen to eraser. (I haven't learned yet about switching back, but that'll come soon!) Can't wait to learn to use this with Clip Studio.
