Painting Study

Study Reference

I posted this last week and I'm still so very thrilled about it! Looking at only the grayscale here, I'm not using enough darker shades...But that's not so much a secret since I think we all know that. XD And I didn't exactly get the S-shape of the river. Both of those will have to be noticed next time I do another one of these.

...and since it was so fun, I'll probably do more! Look for them here on the Thursday posts and the Sketches section of the art page. <3

New idea lineart!

So many ideas. There will be a birdcat on the table (a different one than Ael, like I probably said previously)...and it is going to so be worth using SketchUp more often! This is going to be so so great to finish and paint. =o And it's going to be even more fun to learn more about SketchUp!

Oooh Ael...

As soon as I titled Ael as "finished" the other week, who here knew in their deepest of hearts that I was lying? To you guys, to myself...the whole way around, I think. My brain enjoys these, I think. XD
So ideas started building as soon as he was posted and this is what I have at the moment:

Of course he'd be on a counter. It's just natural. Especially with such a self important look. At least he's not on top of the fridge!

FireAlpaca test: Finished Ael

Fire Phoenix Birdcat, Ael

This was so fun to throw together and grabbing the brush to put the detail on his fur was super easy. So from here out, I can definitely see me painting more with FireAlpaca along with as the Clip Studio version that I bought awhile back!

Have been intending to play with FireAlpaca and try to learn some things with it...Have to say I enjoy how loose the pen is and it's easy to shift from pen to eraser. (I haven't learned yet about switching back, but that'll come soon!) Can't wait to learn to use this with Clip Studio.
