Feature 152--Nenril-Tf

Cassilda Brandis

We start off with a character that Nenril-Tf herself calls a bit of a troll character, a bit of a thief and, I bet, a little of everything to make Cassilda a proper troublemaker when the times come. Bet that it's so fun to play her! (I love her already.)
What's even more interesting is that Nenril mentions that she plays in LARP. I've always wanted to see one of those play out, it has to be so much fun.

Sailor Uranus

This is a redraw of a piece that Nenril had done previously, there is a link showing what the earlier version had been. I like how this version came out, it looks like you're watching her as she has just taken off to reach some villain or troublemaker.
The colors worked out really nicely for this piece and she followed her reference perfectly, in my opinion. (Reference is also linked in the artist comments.) Excellent work!

Edward Elric

Nenril did an amazing job with this piece, don't you think? She got the character to come front and center with the way she painted that blue and white background. And I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I squealed about the cloak around him. It looks like it just caught the perfect amount of air underneath it to help the eye focus on Edward.
Love how she drew his hair and (human) arm. And isn't that metallic sheen on the other arm just amazing? I wonder how far that metal has to go; was it just a replacement for a torn-off arm, or did he need more than that? Anyway, I love this piece just for all there is to see and for how many questions it makes me ask. Super!

It was such a treat to get to write about Nenril-Tf's work again! Here is the link to her deviantArt gallery, go check out her other pieces; it'll so be worth your time.

Feature 107-- Nenril-TF

I feel like I need to write a short warning. There is a bit of nudity here; nothing that's horrible, but there is a clear naked bottom in one of these pieces. So take this as your warning for nudity in one of these pieces. Thank you!

Number Five

Ooh, a character from Umbrella Academy. Can't claim to know anything about the show but I enjoy that background. The blood pattern really interests me and it makes me wonder about the blue. Granted that it may not be blood, it can just be fire, but just look at how it drips down onto the bottom of the canvas.
It makes me wonder so much about that smile that Number Five has on his face. Is he perhaps responsible for the pattern in the back? Is he maybe trying to clean it up with that blue/water? This is such a fun piece, love it!

In Pieces

I am half sure that I shared this piece before. But I really do enjoy it; it's a joy to get to see this one again! But doesn't the piece just look so beautiful while it's ripping itself apart? It's like the flowers and vines just hide the pain that these two are feeling. Doesn't one often have to hide their pain while they're falling apart? Or if it's just that these two have torn apart from their relationship, it must be miserable.
Gorgeous piece!

Saltatempo

Wonder if the background is a moon or just here to set off the dark colors that the character is wearing? In a way, I hope it is a moon. I think it would help tell the character's story all the more. Granted that's just my idea. Read the artist comments to see who and what the character is all about!
Personally, the clothing and weapons work so well together. Makes me think the character is maybe in an assassin or thief class while being an explorer. And just look at the cape the character's wearing. It's so neat to see the pattern on the side that would be hidden.
I really can't say enough about this one! Awesome piece.

It's so fun to go through Nenril-TF's gallery! I personally enjoy all the use of color and especially how she has designed everything. It's like going on a great mental tour; so you have got to check it out. If you have a dA account, don't forget to leave her a good comment!

Feature 20--Nenril-TF

Morrigan Aensland - REQUEST
I love how Nenril-TF painted that circle behind her in this piece, it sets Morrigan off very well and I just like trying to pick out what is in there. I see a moon and stars in all of the colors there and my eyes keep coming back to it. It's also nice to see how Morrigan seems to be pushing off from the "window"--or maybe she's just sitting on it. The pose seems to fit either idea!

The Night Has Thousand of Eyes
You have to read the artist comment in the link! Nenril-TF shows a bit of poetry by Francis William Bourdillon that was her inspiration for this piece and she explains what she was thinking as she built this piece from the beginning. In my opinion, she did a super job with this. I wonder how long it took her to make the stars come out in all of that hair? And just look at how the color transforms as your eyes go down to the bottom of the piece. Beautiful!

In Pieces
And now we're at the picture that initially drew my eyes to Nenril-TF's work. I adore her grasp on anatomy and how well both of these characters are drawn. But look at all that glass around them, it looks like two friends just shattered in some way. They've certainly broken apart for now, that's for sure. According to the artist, the little flowers are Forget-Me-Nots. Maybe the two still have a chance after some time?
This is another one of those pieces that I could go on forever about. Do yourself a favor and go to the link so you can see the full size version!
