Mother's Day painting!

Dad asked me to paint something for Mother's Day on the day as a surprise for my Mom.
So I took the whole day and this is what came out of the idea!

The first version we printed for her is too big for the picture frame she bought. I offered to print another version for her so it would fit in the picture frame she bought but...nope. That was a no go.
Still! It's so great to see and hear how much she enjoys how this came out.

Feature 110--SoftBoiledArt

Not Patt again

SoftBoiledArt says that this was a painting exercise, from what I can see, he uses Copic Markers. He's used them super well too! I personally love the colors of Patt's skin and I love how her hair came out. But can we just focus on those gorgeous eyes for a moment? They just pop! And take a moment to see how well he designed the nose and lips. Isn't it just something how he made the nose come forward?
Amazing work!

K-Model study 2

My eyes were immediately drawn to how well the wrinkles in the clothing look. Wow! They look so natural and help make the clothing look like something that's actually being worn. Look at the hair too. Hasn't SoftBoiledArt just nailed it in how to make hair look curly? And again, I have got to squeal about how well he's pained this image's skin. What is it about his medium that tends to look so very perfect?
Aside from how well he knows how to use it, of course. Because he's well learned in that area!

Cosy Beach

Here's the one that I've just been waiting to get to! Look at how he painted the water so peaceful and how red that sunset has painted the sky. Then the reflection in the water is so very well done, too!
Let's take a look at the mermaid now; my eyes are immediately drawn to the scales on her tail. Aren't those amazing? The shadows coming from her are also very well done, they plant her directly on her position. And I personally think that leaving the sand underneath her as white as the paper just worked super for the whole image.

These three pieces are amazing, aren't they? To see more of SoftBoiledArt's work, here is the link to his featured gallery and don't forget to check out those folders on the top to see all of his work.

Paint delay admission

Yes, I've been delaying putting any color on this picture. Went back and redid some linework and everything! Well, this is why.

The darn picture has agreed to be a sunset!

I'm not used to an image agreeing with me about the lighting situation. And it's going to be the mountains to the sides that's going to be hardest to figure out with all those little rocks...Let's not count the five characters on top of that.
It's going to be pretty fun to get this thing to work. But it's going to be exactly that. Work.

Considering the last sunset I did was "Battle's Sunset" that's posted to my Art page and deviantArt, this one should hopefully come out better. But I'm going to have to argue with Valeon for a little while about his images being so much trouble for me...can't be pleased with just posing on an easier background, noooo. He expects his story to come out in these! XD

Had a nice suggestion that the sun was flattening the image since it was front and center. So I've edited the sunset a bit to pull it down. Thanks, BrushXO!
