Get Off Me update

You know the best part about having that gold armor painted up? ...that I'm going to have to re-paint it when I finally add in the light source. Hopefully, it won't be too much reworking at that point.

(Dec 10 edit: The light has been painted and is shining on the characters! Adding it to the background soon.)

As I've said before, this is a newer version of "Get Off Me", which I painted with Clip Studio Paint in 2016. It's turned out to be a perfect image to put Painter 2021 through its paces. And it helps that I can go between programs to do little touches of everything, since they both save as .psd. (If it weren't for that, I would have been so much more afraid of Painter. XD)

What I like about Painter is that I love how well the brushes pick up from the colors underneath the layer I'm working on, and it also shows some of the brush strokes. It's also got a texture to the brushes that I can't quite get on CSP, as much as I love it.
To be fair, I've only played with the Acrylic paints so far. I don't know all that much about the Oils or other types of painting that Painter is able to mimic.

So, if you can find a decent price for Corel Painter, I would definitely recommend it at this point.

Get Off Me! and Ko-Fi chatter

Get off Me!

Valeon is so slowly working out! Many thanks to all of the critique I've gotten lately, they've helped out so much! So now finish out his hair and then...
Then I take this whole thing to Corel painter to attempt painting in digital acrylic. Looking forward to making that work out!

Also, I'm going to try out with the Ko-fi link again. Getting a bit together to pay gasoline for my rides back and forth to the doctors offices would be so helpful, if y'all don't mind? It doesn't have to be a large amount.

"Get Off Me!" v.2 and a bit of blab

"Get Off Me!"

Plenty of work to be done on this, up to and including actually drawing Valeon and the Zombie. My tutor gave me a suggestion of extending the post that Valeon's against so I can see the perspective a little better; since my front two tombstones aren't exactly on point...that shouldn't be so hard!

We also had an interesting conversation about how my current way of lining and painting things are blocking out my artistic "voice". I never really thought about that! He mentioned an artist or two to look at for examples and to try to allow my lines to be a little more sketchy, instead of what I'm doing now. It'll be interesting to play with that when I get the courage.

I have to say that the artist that my tutor brought up has some gorgeous paintings, by the way, and I'd be wrong to not share. John Sargent!

Edit: Finally faced my terror to redo the background with looser pen lines. This is what I've come out with! The tombstone is much more in perspective and the tree is now in possession of roots.

Giving Valeon trouble, again.

"Get Off Me!" v.2

Nowhere near finished with this version but I think it's going to be amazing, in comparison to the original! Here is hoping that the skeleton and zombie turn out as well as they do there! (And they should, right? Especially after taking it into Corel Painter to finish!)

Currently, I'm pretty happy with how the Zombie is shoving Valeon into that taller gravestone. It matches a ton better than that big rock from before. ...I might still have to move it to the right a little bit but we'll see. These dolls appear to be a hair large for the setting too, don't they? I'll be sure to post whenever I test out their sizes again.
Two folks have given me some great critique, mentioning that Valeon's left hand ought to be on the Zombie's wrist, as if he's trying to stabilize himself or shove that hold loose. So many thanks to you too, friends!

As for that MS spell I was complaining about last week; I'm feeling a good deal better. Took my last prednisone on Sunday and my vision is a lot less blurry. It will hopefully be a long while before I end up having to pause like that again. Thank you so very much for your patience!
