Fish. Again, with the fish!

edit posted on Nov 16

Credit to where credit is due--Nick, a friend of mine who's better with watery stuff than I will ever be, helped to add the bluish tint in this.
It's brighter as well. That's due to my printer trying to print it all black. XD I wish that it could do better but...it has to be something to do with the ink vs what we see on the computer. I can't recall exactly.

Plan to color the other tiny fish and to shade. Then I'll stop worrying the world about this piece. @@

Updated fish!

Edit posted Nov 16

Didn't feel like putting this on deviantart yet, since it almost feels like a backtrack with the water layer turned off.
--Better word! Not a backtrack, a "non-linear progress". Thanks to Ace for that one!

Once the rest of the rocks are dragged from the canvas, I plan to put more grass and probably a couple more (smaller) fish to give this picture a little more life. I know that a bass would probably eat the smaller fish, but maybe he's not exactly hungry night now. XD

Edit 11/1
This is a test to see the light and dark as it should play in the water...if I could get a blue shade to behave for me. Even without blue though, I like!

The fish! It has decided to color!

Edit posted Nov 16

And with any luck, the fish should stand out fairly well from the background (when that's colored) since it's the only thing to be graced with a texture.

At least how I think right now. We'll see. XD

One thing I do know. You can finally see the fish even with the transparent background. *facepalm*

And what do you know.

While I still plan to do what I mentioned yesterday, should cheer for a moment. Finally found a picture of a fish without its mouth wide open! Here's what I have so far.

As I said elsewhere, I'm really hoping that the coloring actually brings everything out as it should. Even if the fish doesn't look entirely like a largemouth bass, perhaps I can color it convincingly enough. And I can make this close enough to the surface to make the scales glitter like I imagine them doing!

Here's hoping.

Cleaned up the fish.)
