Colors! Aah, colors! @@

After fighting and whining about it for weeks, Valeon's color has finally come back to me!

Hard to see on its own, I'm half certain, but it's definitely something that works on the character himself. On this background, I can clearly see the need to bring the light a bit brighter in hue, and to lay it a little different so Valeon's arm doesn't look like it's trying to be a stick...
So now the sleeve fits a little bit better on his arm. And it looks better with the line that's meant to be there, but at least my intention can be seen now!

Perhaps will get the whole character painted in the next few hours and will have something to actually post in a little while. Better than this little half spit out I have now.

...mercy, it was so much easier to stay on schedule when I was doing sprite backgrounds!

Edit:
It is much easier to draw and do certain things, such as wrinkles, when you remember to allow the program to affect brushes with pen pressure.

This has been a public service announcement.

The fish! It has decided to color!

Edit posted Nov 16

And with any luck, the fish should stand out fairly well from the background (when that's colored) since it's the only thing to be graced with a texture.

At least how I think right now. We'll see. XD

One thing I do know. You can finally see the fish even with the transparent background. *facepalm*

I think it's time to call this finished.

If I do much else, I fear it'll be destroyed! Lowering opacity on the lines did a great favor to make the shading come out and then finally being done with the trees and their 'bark'

The only thing now is to worry until I can give the printed version to the one who asked! XD

Isn't it nice when you discover the picture?

Deer looking back

I believe that shade of blue in the sky should really help out the shading when I get to it! And I hope it's sooner than later. There are other pictures to get to!

Edit: 8-27

Thanks to a friend's suggestion on deviantart, the sky to this image has been slightly reworked.
